Wday is testing which mascara to choose, customer reviews 2017

This time, the editors are checking which mascara is not afraid of women’s tears.

– My mother (a real woman!) In her youth could make a salad, a hat and a tragedy out of nothing. An apple from an apple tree, and therefore I, too, would not mind shedding a tear for greater persuasion. Not always, of course, but often when communicating with a faithful person. I love to cry during a sad movie and even a cartoon. Tears on the cheeks, stains under the eyes … Well, definitely a panda! (Not all mascaras are created equal.)

Yes, all the girls cry with or without reason. So why not use this … “crying” ability for good? Say, to check out the next beauty novelty?

No sooner said than done. And now the entire editorial board is sobbing over the melodramas and fixing the results for strength.

And the testing rules are simple: we apply mascara to the eyelashes, choose a film that is more draining and watch it with passion.

We describe the results in the review and at the end we give the product points from 1 to 10, where 1 point – the mascara did not cope with the test at all, and 10 points – did not flow and did not even crumble, but firmly withstood women’s tears.

Well, we also don’t forget to mention how sad the film is. With them, however, we agree on a five-point system, where 1 point is a couple of sobs for a picture, and 5 points – handkerchiefs in the house are over.

Dolce & Gabbana PASSIONEYES duo mascara, 2749 rubles

– In my cosmetic bag mascaras for every taste: black, blue, green, even gold (!) … The brushes are fluffy, flat, round … From Avon, Vivienne Sabo, Chanel, Guerlain … But I still haven’t found the ideal one. It sticks the cilia together, then it crumbles, then it is badly removed … Perhaps Dolce & Gabbana PASSIONEYES duo will become my salvation?

Expectations: one of my favorite lipsticks is from Dolce & Gabbana. She has a stunning shade, but she terribly stains her face and everything that touches her.

I have high hopes for the mascara. Moreover, its creators promise me just a perfect result.

The description says that the product has two effects in one: volume and curl. The curved brush perfectly colors and curls the eyelashes, and the glycerin contained in the mascara cares for the eyelashes and gives them an incredible curl.

Preparation for testing: I choose a film to test a new mascara “Dog life”… The film was released only recently, but has already managed to make a lot of tears shed.

The picture represents several stories united by one common hero. The dogs playing in the film are different, but the soul of the dog, wandering from one body to another, is one. Every Bobby’s life is better or worse than the previous one. Seeing the joys and sorrows of the tailed beast, the viewer has to cry all the time …

The film “A Dog’s Life”. 4 points and approximately 3/4 of a pack of handkerchiefs

Reality: I apply mascara (by the way, I really like the shape that the eyelashes acquire after the first wave of the brush!), put tea with marshmallows and handkerchiefs on a tray. 100 minutes of sad and joyful moments, half of which I spend in tears.

“Well, couldn’t you bear it?” – I am getting ready to gloat at the end of the film, going up to the mirror, and looking at the result.

Dudki! Didn’t even crumble! Although … If you look closely, there are three black dots under the right eye. (Don’t feed me bread, let me get on the wrong! ..)

“Okay, okay,” I say to myself. – Again everyone will think that I am kind and only give high scores. Where to go? Mascara from Dolce & Gabbana coped with the test. And how!

Rating: 10 of 10 points. Girls, I honestly recommend!

PS Guys from Dolce & Gabbana, if you read my response, you can send me a gift. Another mascara of the same kind, for example. (Just kidding, of course!)

Extra black mascara Urban Decay PERVERSION, 1700 rubles

– Now I don’t even need a special reason to cry, let alone a sad movie. I’m pregnant and suddenly I can cry over some little thing. The last time the reason for crying was a T-shirt, which I put off for the last months, and it did not fit on my stomach already at the 6th. Yes, that’s how it happens 🙂 What can we say about cinema. Show drama – I’m in tears, killed a whale in “Moby Dick” – I’m in tears. Beautiful love – I’m in tears. I checked mascara with a sudden “La-La-Land”. Come on, you mean you didn’t cry at the end ?!

Expectations: I already wrote that I am very picky about the choice of mascara. Let’s just say: in general, I am always initially unhappy. In addition, a brasmatist has such a property – a new one is always very liquid, from the first time it is never possible to understand what he is.

Urban Decay PERVERSION first of all promised a rich color and density of eyelashes, secondly it referred to a unique formula thanks to which the mascara never crumbles and does not form lumps. Add in proteins and amino acids, including marine glycogen (eyelash growth activator), honey extract. Sounds delicious. But before we believe, we’ll check.

Preparation for testing. I don’t believe it if you haven’t had time to watch the Oscar-winning triumphal La La Land. But if not, here’s the plot. Mia dreams of becoming an actress, but for now serves coffee in a cafe at a film studio. Sebastian is a fanatical jazz musician who is forced to earn extra money in substandard bars. They meet and fall in love, and together they gradually achieve what they dreamed of. But it turns out that you can’t get everything at once. And this piercingly filmed ending about choosing either the love of your life, or the dream that you cannot have both, I got to the very heart. I sobbed in a way that I had not sobbed for a long time.

Reality: so, the mascara coped with the first declared effect – it is really rich black, it is enough to run it over the eyelashes once – and the effect is there. At the same time, nothing superfluous, perfect for daytime makeup. But she glued my eyelashes.

The catch is that before the evening viewing of the film, the mascara had already given up – it crumbled in the corners of the eyes. But the crocodile’s tears withstood brilliantly – did not flow. Only slightly smeared just in those places where it crumbled. And stuck together in spider legs. But this happens with almost all brasmatics from tears.

Evaluation: 5 out of 10. For me, it is no different from many other mascaras that you use only because you have already bought. But she certainly did not become a favorite.

Mascara Yves Saint Laurent VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS COLLECTOR with the effect of false eyelashes, 2760 rubles

– I am very anxious about this type of cosmetics. In my arsenal, it seems, there were all sorts of brands, colors and brushes … Through trial and error, I found out that I do not like waterproof mascara and all kinds of rubber attachments, which more resemble gadgets than brushes that can dye eyelashes. Having meticulously examined the Yves Saint Laurent VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS mascara, I realized that we would work together. Not waterproof, charcoal black, with a good classic brush. I’m going to test the strength of the product!

Expectation: I have known the Yves Saint Laurent cosmetic line for a long time, at one time I really liked their colored shadows, which were felt on the eyelids with delicate silk and did not roll off during the day. Now I put the same hope in mascara, which, according to the manufacturers, allows you to create a dramatic, alluring look with just one stroke of the brush. The designers of the brand promised that the texture of the mascara and the nylon brush will give the eyelashes incredible volume and rich color, and vitamin B5 in the composition will take care of the eyelashes.

Preparation for testing: in fact, I can shed a tear on almost any film that has an emotional moment. Therefore, you can safely choose some melodrama and stock up on paper napkins. My choice fell on the war drama Dear John, starring Amanda Seyfred and Channing Tatum.

The film tells the story of the love story of young Savannah and a soldier of the American army John, who communicate through letters for a whole year – the only source of joy and hope in the incessant war. As a result, Savannah does not understand what kind of “sense of duty” makes John stay in the army for a while, and marries another.

Reality: applied mascara, and painted over several times, so that for sure (the tool, by the way, easily separated and lengthened the eyelashes without sticking them together). She turned on the melodrama and roared the whole plot (no, not sobbing, but tears flowed like a hail). After this, any normal mascara, if it is not waterproof, of course, should have instantly drained, leaving only dark streaks on the cheeks.

Alas, this did not happen. Eyes darkened with tears, and it was clear that she was crying, but the mascara … the tool remained where it should be. And it didn’t even get smeared! Therefore, either I learned to sob gently, or I got a really high-quality product! The second is more likely, by the way.

Rating: 10 of 10 points. I am very pleased with how the test went.

Serge Lutens, Oeil pour oeil mascara, RUB 4800

– I have already written more than once that mascara for me is the most important beauty tool, since I almost never dye and prefer naturalness. And, to be honest, I don’t see much difference between carcasses of different brands. The main thing is that the eyelashes do not crumble and stick together. However, in my opinion, “the one” is always needed in case of a sudden stream of tears. It seems that now I have such a copy in my cosmetic bag.

Expectations: I did not have high hopes about Serge Lutens Oeil pour oeil mascara. I just wanted a quality product, easy to apply and practical enough.

The description for the product says that it twists, lengthens, does not crumble and contains a stable pigment. Also, it came as a surprise to me that the mascara is waterproof. And I found out about this only when I tried to wash it off with my usual cleanser.

Preparation for testing: For the purposes of our experiment, I chose a win-win – The Notebook with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Once I roared over him like a beluga: with rivers of tears and terrible hysteria. They say that this love story does not leave indifferent even men.

Reality: I applied mascara in the morning. And from the first stroke of the brush, I did not like it. Generally! It has a very bright fragrance (after all, the mascara was released by a perfume brand), and this turned out to be a minus for me. Also, I didn’t like the way my eyelashes started to look. They became heavy and straight – no twisting effect.

I watched the film, but, oddly enough, it did not cause me a single tear. A lump in my throat, of course, was present, but I did not cry as a beluga. True, a little later in the evening I nevertheless suddenly burst into tears after a couple of glasses of Aperol. The effect? The mascara remained in its place, did not flow or crumble. And because of the tears, she began to look even better on the eyelashes. Here’s a paradox.

Rating: 7 out of 10. The value for money was unacceptable for me. I didn’t like the application and the way my eyelashes looked.

Oriflame mascara, The ONE Lash Transformer, 640 rubles

– Lately, a lot of mascaras have accumulated in my cosmetic bag: I bought some myself, others donated, others gave for testing … All of them, of course, are of different brands. I can say that I can distinguish one brand from another by the texture without a label. Except for Oriflame. I have never used the beauty products of this company. But the more interesting it was to test the new The ONE Lash Transformer. And also check if you can take it with you to the cinema.

Expectation: in mascara, I don’t like the effects that make the look puppet. For me, the simpler the better. The mascara should lengthen my eyelashes a little, add volume and … not peel off during the day. That’s probably all.

However, The ONE Lash Transformer does not promise anything supernatural. It just “provides an intense black and a smooth, lump-free finish.” And if you want “extreme curling”, “false eyelash effect” or any other functions, take extra brushes to the mascara. By the way, I (for the sake of interest) took a “sensational lengthening”.

But on the Oriflame website nothing was said about durability. Well, let’s check if the novelty can withstand my tears.

Preparation for testing: I spent a long time choosing a film that could impress me. Usually I only cry over documentaries about how, for example, some people treat animals or … even worse, children. But since the assignment clearly stated – to watch the melodrama, I chose “Light in the Ocean” with my beloved Alicia Vikander in the title role. First of all, I was captivated by the incredibly beautiful shots, and I knew nothing about the plot … But, fortunately, he did not disappoint me. On the contrary, I advise everyone to watch this film. It has everything: aesthetics, and beautiful views of nature, and excellent acting, and, of course, a touching story about loneliness, pure true love and motherhood. But the most important thing is that after watching once again you are convinced that there are no right and wrong in this world and you cannot condemn without going through every step of a person’s life …

Reality: The “light in the window” certainly made me cry. And I cried both in the middle of the film and at the end. But surprisingly, the mascara turned out to be incredibly resistant to my tears. It’s like I just applied it. And to remove it with tonic or foam for washing with water is easy and simple! Separately, I would like to say about other properties of The ONE Lash Transformer: it really, as stated in the description, perfectly paints every eyelash, does not leave lumps and lasts throughout the day. Another nice bonus: affordable price.

Rating: 10 out of 10. The ONE Lash Transformer, Oriflame entered the list of my favorite mascaras and once again convinced that mass-market cosmetics can be no worse than luxury brands.

Smashbox mascara, X-Rated, 1790 rub.

– I love trying different types of mascara. I don’t have a favorite yet, for special occasions I can make a “drama”, and for every day a light lengthening one will do. My copy was supposed to survive the film “She” – later I can say that this would perfectly overlap with periods of loneliness after an unsuccessful romance in the conditional 35+ (both for a woman and for a man) – you can cry well. Well, let me tell you how the melodrama and X-Rated mascara from Smashbox came together.

Expectation: to be honest, I am a sensitive, but not an emotional person – that is, there are a lot of emotions inside, but practically nothing is brought out. The cinema here is rather weak – a theatrical performance or some kind of trash about animals can move me – here, yes, you can’t get away with tears. I thought that for the experiment it was worth choosing a melancholic and disturbing film – it would definitely resonate in my contradictory heart.

Preparation for testing: for the test, I chose Spike Jones’ film “She” (by the way, he shot my favorite “Being John Malkovich”), which was nominated for an Oscar in five nominations and received a Golden Globe for Best Actress for a Girl Who Has Never showed in the frame, the director is a master of such paradoxes. And he also knows how to elevate any thought to absurdity, bring it to its climax – in this case, the thought of a romance between a man and an operating system named Samantha.

Reality: the mascara has a cool brush – it is triangular, and all the time it seems that the villi are longer on one side – this sensation makes you scroll the brush at the lash line. It does not give noticeable volume, bend and drama, but it lengthens well. At first, I lack plasticity – the mascara is thin, this is exactly the texture for lengthening and separating the eyelashes, but not for the “fat drama”. Comfortable to wear, but due to its liquid texture, it stains the eyelid when applied. It does not crumble especially – however, to wash it off, you need two cotton pads (I shoot my everyday Make Up For Ever one). I survived the day in the field with a bang – I go to bed in the evening and turn on a film with Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson (behind the scenes).

The main character, the melancholic and infantile Theodore, lives in the near future, where people are hammered into real relationships and are building virtual ones with might and main. With the perfect partner. Which does not exist (at this point you can already start crying). A beautiful picture, against the background of which the main character (the amazing acting performance of Joaquin Phoenix) is so genuinely happy in his illusory life, and it really makes you cry – you involuntarily think about long-distance relationships and illusions that collapse in your youth. At the end of the film (spoiler!), The hero in one fell swoop gets rid of the “fake” life – such a rapid maturation of the spirit and unintentional deception of an infantile soul looks edifying and yes, we managed to cry.

The mascara glued the eyelashes a little, but did not crumble and did not leak – and that pleases. A film in our scale of tearfulness gets two drops – you can cry, but rather think about the real and fictional world and about which of them we spend more time.

Both the film and the ink left a good impression, the product is like a workhorse, and Spike Jones’s tape is a great way to tie up with virtual love once and for all.
