  • “Sugar baby”. Differs in small size. It has a dark green peel, round shape and bright red flesh. The ripening period is 70–80 days. One fruit weighs about 4 kg. Possesses good transportability and immunity to diseases.

  • “Astrakhansky”. The most popular in Russia. It is grown mainly in the southern part. The ripening period is 70–80 days. It has a green skin with stripes and bright red juicy flesh. Fruit weight – about 10 kg. Differs in unpretentiousness, transportability, good taste, drought resistance and long shelf life. Ideal for sale.

  • “Chill”. No wonder it got its name, as it is resistant to temperature extremes. Ripening period – from 100 to 115 days. Fruit weight reaches 12 kg. Possesses immunity to diseases, resistance to transportation, long shelf life and good taste.

When choosing a watermelon, start from your goals: growing for personal consumption or for sale. Small varieties that can be grown in a greenhouse are more suitable for growing in a summer cottage. For sale, varieties with large fruits and high yields are better suited.
