Every happy owner of even a small personal plot seeks to organize a flowering flower bed in front of the windows. But in order for the flower garden to please the eye, and not bring multiple experiences, it is very important to adhere to the basic rules of agricultural technology required by each culture. It is equally important to properly organize the watering of flowers in your garden.
When to Water
Of course, the flower plot needs to be watered as needed: there is no need to carry water to the flower bed every day if the plants have enough natural moisture. But in cases where the garden flower garden is clearly fading, additional watering is indispensable.
It is best to carry it out in the morning or evening hours, when the sun’s rays are not yet as intense as closer to noon. Everyone knows that moisture that gets on the leaves and stems in the sun often leads to plant burns and loss of viability.

What to water
When planting flower crops, try to form a composition in such a way as to take into account the need for moisture for each of them, because each flower requires its own watering regimen.
So, crocuses and daffodils do not need frequent moisture, they actively use moisture from the soil cover, so you can water them no more than once every few days. But lilies of the valley, gladioli and irises, on the contrary, prefer a sufficient amount of moisture and require regular, but not too plentiful watering. Dahlias are even more capricious – the soil around them is abundantly moistened for the first 7 days after planting, and then they simply maintain an optimal level of moisture.
The most unpretentious are such annual crops as marigolds, alyssum or cornflowers – they easily survive short dry periods, needing only moderate watering.
How often
The regularity of watering will depend not only on the variety of the selected plant, but also on its age: as already mentioned, there are crops with complex requirements. For example, a peony bush needs active, frequent and daily watering during the time period from May to August, then the amount of water is significantly reduced.
As a rule, for most garden flowers, it is enough to replenish moisture once every 2-3 days. Exceptions are freshly planted flowers, as well as crops with a special growing regime.
Be that as it may, the features of watering and caring for each flower can be clarified on the package of seeds or in the nearest specialized store.
Watering in the heat
Everyone knows that watering any plants in the midst of the midday heat is not recommended. With the hot summer days coming, try to spend some time watering early in the morning or in the evening hours at sunset. With the advent of especially hot periods, you can water the flower garden twice a day – in the morning and in the evening.
Features of automatic watering
Automatic watering is definitely a real boon for gardeners. Of course, for a large garden, a powerful integrated irrigation system, with a timer, pump and filter, would be ideal. However, there is not always an opportunity and an objective need for such an expensive purchase, so you can get by with more mundane options. For example, if you buy several affordable and bright watering cans, fill them with water and install them in a flower garden, you can forget about the need to carry water for a few days. And you can buy a compact ready-made automatic irrigation system, or even build something similar yourself from improvised means. The main advantage that automation of the process of soil moistening gives us is that moisture enters the ground in a droplet manner, is evenly distributed over the earthen coma, respectively, the probability of root rotting is practically excluded.
Choose the option that you like, and let your flower bed be the most beautiful!
