Unlimited water for my baby?
Did you know ? In the first 3 months of life, a baby’s weight is 75% water. Between bottles and feedings, it is recommended for infants 6 to 12 months to drink between 640 and 800 ml of liquid (milk, water) per day. According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), a toddler should drink 0,7 to 0,9L of water per day from ages 0 to 4. For this, it is of course preferable to opt for a mineral water of good quality.
Constipation: the importance of hydration
Many infants suffer from transit disorders! This is why it is recommended to hydrate them in sufficient quantity throughout the day. This helps prevent constipation which causes pain and bloating. For the preparation of their bottles, therefore, do not forget to favor water that bears the mention “suitable for infant feeding” such as Mont Roucous natural mineral water.
What water for his bottle?
Remember, until around 12 months old, your toddler’s organs are still immature. His kidneys are fragile, his body is in full development. So in order not to solicit them more, it is better to turn to very weakly mineralized water. It is used for: food needs or preparing the baby’s bottle. Powdered milk, because it contains the right dose of minerals essential for your child, should not be combined with water that is too rich in minerals. This is the case with Mont Roucous natural mineral water which perfectly respects the kidney and digestive system of the toddler. Low in sodium, it tastes neutral. Convenient to help your little one learn to taste. Think about it!
