If there is water in the new dishwasher, this is a sign of a malfunction. In the normal state, the machine should not make a fence until the user starts it. Such a problem can lead to leakage and an emergency. See below for how to fix it.
Should there be water left in a non-working dishwasher?
If you recently bought equipment, and water constantly appears in it, you need to look for reasons. When buying, it is not always possible to check the performance of all parts, therefore, after installation and connection, certain problems may appear. Have you noticed that the dishwasher is wet inside? There is only one reason – a malfunction of the solenoid valve.
The inlet element works according to the following principle: the user starts the program, the control module gives a signal to the valve, its membrane opens – and water begins to be poured into the PMM chamber. As soon as the level reaches a certain point, the membrane closes, blocking the flow.
If the dishwasher is turned off and draws water on its own, then the membrane is damaged or does not close at all.
This part is not repairable and will require a complete replacement. But how to understand that the valve is not working and why is this happening? It needs to be checked. There are several ways to do this:
- Most often it is located in the lower part of the case, for example, in Bosch dishwashers. In other models, it may be located on top.
- Close the stop valve.
- Disconnect the inlet hose and strainer.
- Unscrew the bolts and remove the panel behind which the inlet element is hidden.
- The simplest check is as follows: remove the valve from its place. Connect the intake hose to it and let the water run. If the part is in good condition, then the water will not pass. If the membrane is turned off, but water flows, then it has received mechanical damage.
- Apply an operating voltage of 220 V to the coil. Membrane not working? The element needs to be replaced.
- Diagnose with a multimeter: connect the probes to the valve contacts. The norm is considered indicators of 2-4 kOhm.
Select the correct filling valve. It has a marking that means that the part is suitable for your dishwasher model. It is with this marking that you need to go to the store.
How to replace
Diagnostics showed that the valve is faulty? Substitute:
- After the shut-off valve is closed, disconnect the wiring chips from the part. You can take a picture of their location to make the correct connection.
- Remove the screw that holds the element in place.
- Install the new part in reverse order.
Now we need to do a test run. Replace the panel, connect the inlet hose. Open the faucet and start the washing program. If everything works fine and there are no leaks, then the problem is fixed.
How to protect yourself
In the event of a malfunction in the filling system, water can be drawn in until a leak occurs. To avoid such incidents, follow the recommendations for connecting the dishwasher to the water supply.
A tee with a tap is installed on the pipe insert. After the end of the operation of the machine, the tap can be closed. Then, in your absence, such problems will not arise.
If you notice something similar in your equipment immediately after purchase, you can contact the warranty service center. If the manufacturer is to blame for the breakdown, the repair will be free.
