Voronezh Cancer Center

Most recently, they took part in testing organized by one of the leading oncological medical institutions in the world – the Saphir Center for Radiosurgery in Northern Germany.

The Center for Radiosurgery in Northern Germany is known not only for its experienced doctors and cooperation with leading German universities. Oliver Blank, the head of Saphir’s medical physicists, Doctor of Anthropobiology, even advises the creators of various equipment for the treatment of cancer. Including the developers of the unique CyberKnife system (see Help). It was Oliver Blank who became the organizer of this testing, the results of which should form the basis of his scientific research.

If you do not go into complex terms and physico-medical subtleties, the contestants had to draw up an optimal treatment plan on this particular equipment. And the goal of this therapy was a complex tumor in the area of the spine. “Irradiation” was supposed to cover the tumor itself to the maximum and at the same time provide a minimum radiation load on vital organs – kidneys, liver, spinal cord, skin.

Voronezh physicists took third place in this kind of Unified State Exam. In total, 14 medical centers from all over the world took part in the testing, including from the USA and France, where CyberKnife therapy has been practiced for more than 10 years. The more prestigious was the prize-winning place of the Voronezh specialists of the Interregional Center, which has been operating in Voronezh for only about three years.

– Of course, we have all been trained in the best centers in the world – the USA, Germany, Italy – and we have a good practice of working with CyberKnife. But this testing gave us the necessary experience and additional confidence in the correctness of our actions, notes Vyacheslav Dynin, senior medical physicist, MMRTSDiLOZ… – We checked our course with the leading clinics in the world and came to the conclusion that we are moving in the right direction. In addition, our “exam” is also of great importance for patients. We have expanded the list of options for using CyberKnife and began to tackle more complex cases, “peeping” the positive experience of their treatment.
