Voronets

Voronets – a perennial herbaceous plant about 1 m high. Its leaves are alternate, large, twice or thrice tripartite, green. The flowers are small, red or white, on large light stalks. Voronets bears fruit at the end of summer with spherical red or black fruits the size of a pea, growing on long legs. The plant propagates in spring by dividing the bush.

Voronets grows in the temperate forests of Europe, Asia and North America. In our area, it is found on the territory of Western Siberia and the Caucasus. This tarava grows in coniferous and mixed forests, on clay and clay-stone slopes, among grass and forest swamps.

Useful properties of crow

The chemical composition of the crow has been little studied, it is only known that the rhizomes and roots of the plant contain alkaloids, the leaves contain vitamin C. The fruits and seeds have a powerful narcotic effect that affects the nervous system of the body. Nevertheless, the crow belongs to medicinal plants. For the harvesting and preparation of medicines, the roots, rhizomes, grass and berries of the plant are collected. The grass is harvested in May-June, dried in the shade under a canopy.

The roots are harvested in early spring or autumn, they are thoroughly washed, freed from roots and damaged parts and quickly dried in special dryers at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C.

The use of voronets

In folk medicine, the crow root is used as a laxative and emetic, used for diseases of the nervous system and general weakness. The root of the plant is effective in treating asthma. Crowberries are good for headaches and stomach pains. A decoction of the herb is prescribed for gynecological diseases. It is also used in case of loss of strength. Grass and fruits of the plant are used as an antitumor agent for stomach cancer.

Decoctions and infusions from rhizomes are used for uterine bleeding, delayed menstruation, pulmonary tuberculosis, malaria and skin diseases. Crowberry preparations are used to treat cardiovascular diseases.

Decoction of rhizomes: in 500 ml of water, you need to pour 1 teaspoon of dry, finely chopped rhizomes, boil in a water bath for 3-4 minutes, let it brew for an hour and strain through 2-3 layers of gauze. Take this medicine 2 teaspoons three times a day.

Herbal infusion: 10 g of dry chopped grass should be infused in 200 ml of boiling water for at least an hour. After straining the infusion, it is recommended to take it 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.

Voronets red

For medicinal purposes, use the grass and roots of the black crow, which contain alkaloids. Herbal decoctions are used for headaches and heart pain, gastric ulcer, enterocolitis. Also, decoctions are prescribed as a stimulant for general weakness. From the leaves of the plant, poultices are made by applying them to abscesses. Dried roots are widely used to eliminate discomfort during menopause.

Root decoction: 1 g of dried crow root should be poured into 20 liter of boiled water, bring the mixture to a boil, then boil over low heat until the water has evaporated by 1/3 (about 20–30 minutes). The medicine is infused and stored in a cool dry place for 48 hours. Folk healers advise drinking it 1 cup three times a day.

Voronet white is used as an ornamental plant, its berries are very poisonous. This type is well suited for decorating borders, semi-wild parts of the garden, flower beds. A feature of this type of crow is large watery-white berries. This frost-resistant plant propagates by dividing the bush. When growing it, precautions must be taken.

The roots are harvested in late autumn, the fruits – after they are fully ripe. Preparations from this plant have a positive effect on diseases of the cardiovascular system. There are several cases of curing inoperable forms of stomach cancer with the help of herbs and black cohosh fruits.

In alternative medicine, the plant is used to treat rheumatism, goiter, asthma, malaria and other diseases.

Root infusion: 10 g of crushed crow root must be infused for an hour in 0,5 liters of boiling water, and then take 1 teaspoon of infusion 2-3 times a day for toothache and nervous tension.

Ointment: dried voronets fruits are ground to a powder state, then 20 g of raw materials are added to 100 g of heated vaseline or natural fat, stirred until smooth and infused in a cool place for 7 days. Use this remedy for skin diseases.

Contraindications to the use of Voronets

The crow plant is poisonous, even when dried, its toxicity does not disappear completely. With the abuse of decoctions and infusions of herbs, tumors and ulcers can appear on the skin, and mucous membranes are also damaged. Preparations from the root can cause vomiting and interruptions in breathing. It is strictly forbidden to use voronets for the treatment of pregnant and lactating women, small children. In case of poisoning, the patient should be taken to the doctor as soon as possible.
