History of Kremlin vodka

The history of JSC “Kristall” began in 1901 with the construction of a large enterprise for the production of alcohol on the banks of the Yauza. It was called “Moscow State Wine Warehouse No. 1”.

Initially, the assortment included only 3 varieties of vodka: “Simple”, “Improved” and “Boyarskaya”. Over time, wines of the “highest purification” were added to it.

The plant successfully developed until the beginning of the First World War and the introduction of the Prohibition in 1914. During the period of hostilities, the workshops organized the production of alcohol for the needs of the army.

Large-scale production resumed only in 1925: the first drink produced after a downtime was Rykovka vodka, named after the Minister of Economy.

In 1953, the company began producing Stolichnaya, a vodka that became a legend and a hallmark of the Russian alcohol industry. Its current name – “Crystal” – the plant received in 1987. In recent years, it has been actively growing and developing, acquiring new workshops and bottling sites.
