A new state award has recently been instituted. She has already been awarded to a girl from the Ulyanovsk region. Alas, posthumously.
During the coronavirus pandemic, many people realized how important it is to support and help those in need. One of these was 19-year-old Svetlana Anuryeva from the village of Karsun, Ulyanovsk region.
The girl combined volunteer activities with studies at the Karsun Medical College.
In early May, she felt unwell, she was admitted to the hospital, where doctors discovered cancer of the fourth degree. “Most patients at this stage are inoperable and are offered only palliative care. On May 12, the girl was discharged from the hospital. She continued to help those who needed it, ”reads a post on the Medical Volunteers website.
“The daughter was on her feet to the last, fought very hard for her life. On May 22, we took her to the hospital again, on the 28th we brought her home while she was lying, ”the girl’s mother’s words are quoted on the website. Svetlana died on May 31.
On June 29, information appeared on the Kremlin’s website that volunteer Svetlana Anuryeva posthumously became a knight of the Pirogov Order, which was established on June 19. “For the dedication shown in the fight against coronavirus infection (COVID-19), to award the Order of Pirogov to Anuryeva Svetlana Borisovna – volunteer, Ulyanovsk region (posthumously)”, – reads the message.
All those who happened to know Svetlana note that she was a very helpful girl and one of the most active volunteers. Anuryeva delivered groceries to lonely pensioners, independently fulfilling a huge number of applications. Svetlana’s merits were assessed at the regional level: by order of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, she was named after the Ulyanovsk Medical College, and a badge “For Contribution to the Development of Volunteer Activities named after Svetlana Anuryeva” was established.
