Vladimir Putin, relying on infection statistics and expert assessments, said that the situation in the country had begun to stabilize. He announced this at a meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Russian Federation.
“According to the incoming objective information, according to experts, the situation in the country as a whole is stabilizing: both in Moscow, which was the first to face the epidemic, and in many other regions of Russia, a gradual decrease in the number of new cases of infection detected daily began,” the head of state.
However, according to him, “so far this positive dynamics is not as fast as we would like, sometimes even unstable, but it still exists.” If a week ago the growth rate of new infections was 5,9%, today it has dropped to 3,5%, Putin stressed.
The President noted that the entire bed reserve should be in constant readiness mode, and drew attention to medical care for patients not with coronavirus. “It is necessary to fully restore rhythmic, planned work with patients with cardiovascular, oncological, endocrine and other diseases as soon as possible,” Vladimir Vladimirovich said, explaining that this concerns the work of ambulance services, clinics, hospitals and specialized medical centers.
The Russian President did not rule out that the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic is quite real in the fall. According to him, the virus can begin to actively spread from October to November. “You yourself told me that a second wave is possible. This is also according to the WHO. In the fall of this year, somewhere around the end of October – November – early December. You, of course, look carefully at what we need and how many beds we need equipped with ventilators, oxygen, and so on. We should definitely have a reserve.
