Citrus fruits are our everything. Especially in the winter season! This was once again confirmed by experts at the thematic press breakfast “What do fruit juices contain? The components of beauty and health: Vitamin C ”.
As you know, daily consumption of vegetables and fruits can be a good prevention of a whole list of all kinds of diseases. That is why, in accordance with the WHO recommendation, many nutritional health consultants advise using juices as the recommended “5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day”.
Svetlana Plyatskovskaya (new product development manager at PepsiCo) spoke at a press lunch about how juices are made. The rich color of the drink is given by natural substances contained in fruits and vegetables, and modern technologies for the production of concentrated juice allow you to preserve the natural smell and taste. By the way, the country in which the fruit grew is responsible for the taste of the juice.
“To produce 1 liter of orange juice, you need 18 pieces of oranges,” says Svetlana, “therefore one glass of orange juice a day can replace several servings of fruit.”
Marina Kopytko (chief physician of the Weight Factor clinic) said that vitamin C tends to be quickly excreted and not accumulate in the human body, and the absence of this important trace element in food quickly leads to the development of vitamin deficiencies, while it is impossible to oversaturate the body with vitamin C. This means that you can drink citrus juices in almost any quantity, and most importantly – with health benefits.
Experts noted that recently there has been a deficiency of Vitamin C in the majority of the population. But it is he who contributes to the preservation of the integrity of the walls of blood vessels, improves the protective function of the liver and enhances the immune system. Don’t forget to include orange and grapefruit juices in your daily diet and, of course, in the New Year’s menu! Juices go well with a large number of dishes and will help you recuperate after a busy New Year’s Eve.
