Vitamin E Medana (200 mg) is a drug recommended for:
- treatment of vitamin deficiency E during long-term improper nutrition and metabolic disorders,
- atherosclerosis,
- ischemic heart disease and its secondary prevention,
- other diseases of etiology related to oxidative stress.
Dosage
Vitaminum E Medana (200 mg) is in the form of capsules to be taken orally. Individual dosing should take place depending on the indication and the clinical condition of the patient.
- Secondary prevention of ischemic heart disease 200-800 mg / day.
Vitaminum E Medana (200mg) and contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Vitaminum E Medana (200 mg) are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- vitamin deficiency K.
Vitaminum E Medana (200mg) – warnings
- Vitaminum E Medana (200 mg) should not be used in combination with other preparations containing vitamin E due to the possibility of overdosing.
- It should be used with caution in people taking concomitant oral anticoagulants or estrogens.
- It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Taking Vitaminum E Medana (200 mg) during pregnancy may only take place after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary, when, in the doctor’s opinion, the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Vitaminum E Medana (200 mg) and other substances
- Iron preparations may weaken the effect of vitamin E, therefore these drugs should be taken several hours apart.
- Vitamin E may antagonize vitamin K and may potentiate the effects of oral anticoagulants (coumarin and indandion derivatives) and increase the risk of haemorrhage.
- Cholestyramine and colestipol may reduce the absorption of vitamin E.
- Vitamin E can increase the absorption, storage and use of vitamin A.

While using the preparation Vitamin E Medana (200mg) no undesirable effects were observed at recommended doses.
When using high doses (more than 800 mg per day) may occur:
- fatigue,
- weakness,
- headaches,
- nausea,
- diarrhea,
- flatulence
- rash.
