Vitamin E Medana (100 mg) is a drug recommended for taking:
- in the treatment of vitamin deficiency and in the case of long-term improper nutrition and metabolic disorders,
- supportive in atherosclerosis,
- in ischemic heart disease and its secondary prophylaxis and other diseases related to oxidative stress.
Dosage
Vitaminum E Medana (100 mg) is in the form of capsules to be taken orally. Individual dosage depending on the indication and clinical condition of the patient.
- Adults usually 200-300 mg / day.
- Children after 8 years of age usually 100 mg / day.
- In children under 8 years of age, vitamin E should be administered in the form of an oral fluid.

Contraindications to taking Vitamin E Medana (100 mg) are:
- allergy to any ingredient of the preparation,
- vitamin deficiency K.
Vitaminum E Medana (100mg) – warnings
- Do not use Vitaminum E Medana (100 mg) in combination with other medications containing vitamin E due to the possibility of overdosing.
- Vitamin E Medana (100 mg) should be used with caution in patients receiving concomitant oral anticoagulants or estrogens.
- It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The use of the preparation during pregnancy may only take place after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary, when, in the doctor’s opinion, the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Vitaminum E Medana (100mg) with other drugs
- Vitamin E may have an antagonistic effect on vitamin K, may increase the effect of oral anticoagulants (coumarin and indandion derivatives) and increase the risk of haemorrhage.
- Iron preparations can weaken the effect of vitamin E, so these drugs should be taken several hours apart.
- Cholestyramine and colestipol may reduce the absorption of vitamin E.
- Vitamin E can increase the absorption, storage and use of vitamin A.
Vitamin E Medana (100 mg) – side effects
While using the preparation Vitamin E Medana (100mg) no undesirable effects were observed at recommended doses. After long-term use of high doses (more than 800 mg per day) may occur:
- fatigue,
- weakness,
- headaches,
- nausea,
- diarrhea,
- flatulence
- rash.
