Vitaminum B Compositum Polfarmex is a drug recommended:
- in the prevention and supplementation of vitamin B deficiencies,
- helpful in diseases of the nervous system,
- in inflammation of the mucous membranes, e.g. lips, mouth, furunculosis and acne.
Drug dosage
Vitaminum B Compositum Polfarmex are capsules for oral administration.
- Adults. 1 tabl. 3-5 × / d.
- Children 2-11. rż. 1 tabl./d.
- Youth 12.-17. rż. 1 tablet 1-3 × / d.
Vitaminum B Compositum Polfarmex and contraindications
Contraindications to taking Vitamin B Compositum Polfarmex are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- Parkinson’s disease treated with levodopa (without a decarboxylase inhibitor),
- severely reduced liver function.
Polfarmex Vitamin B Composite — Formula
- Vitamin B Compositum Polfarmex should be used with caution in people with impaired renal function, hypercalcemia, and nephrolithiasis.
- The preparation contains lactose, therefore it should not be used by patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose-galactose.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use.
Vitaminum B Compositum Polfarmex with other drugs
- Alcohol inhibits the absorption of vitamin B1 (thiamine) and chlorpromazine inhibits vitamin B2 (riboflavin).
- Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) contained in Vitamin B Compositum Polfarmex reduces the effectiveness of concomitant levodopa. This effect is absent when levodopa is combined with carbidopa or benserazide.
- Isoniazid and penicillamine increase the excretion of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) from the body, which may increase the need for it.
Vitaminum B Compositum Polfarmex – side effects
While taking Vitamin B Compositum Polfarmex, the following may occur:
- generalized skin changes in the form of swelling and inflammatory nodules on the erythematous background,
- Yellow urine due to vitamin B2 may also occur during use (this symptom should not be a cause for concern).
