Vitaminum B Compositum – indications, dosage, contraindications

Vitaminum B Compositum is used in the prevention of complex deficiencies of B vitamins in periods of increased demand (fever, burns, alcoholism, pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding), in chronic and debilitating diseases, convalescence, gastrointestinal diseases associated with vitamin absorption disorders, digestive disorders and their treatment. Incidentally, in diseases of the nervous system, inflammation of the mucous membranes, e.g. of the lips, mouth, furunculosis and acne.

Vitamin B Compound to lek zalecany:

  3. in convalescence,
  4. in gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by the absorption of vitamins,
  5. in digestive disorders and their treatment,
  6. helpful in diseases of the nervous system,
  7. in inflammation of the mucous membranes, e.g. lips, mouth, furunculosis and acne.

Dosage

Vitaminum B Compositum is in the form of capsules to be taken orally.

  1. Adults. 1 tabl. 3-5 × / d.
  2. Kids. 1 tablet 1-3 × / d.

Vitaminum B Compositum and contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of its components is a contraindication to taking Vitaminum B Compositum.

Vitaminum B Compositum – warnings

  1. Vitamin B Compositum should be used with caution in people with impaired renal function, hypercalcemia, and nephrolithiasis.
  2. Patients with significant renal failure should reduce the dose to 1 tablet. per day.
  3. The drug contains lactose and sucrose. People with intolerance to certain sugars should contact a doctor before taking the preparation.
  4. Vitamin B Compositiv can influence the results of some diagnostic tests.
  5. The drug can be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women after consulting a doctor.

Vitaminum B Compositum with other substances

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) in Vitamin B Compositum reduces the effectiveness of concomitant levodopa used in Parkinson’s disease.

Vitaminum B Compositum – side effects

During the use of Vitaminum B Compositum, the urine may appear yellow due to vitamin B2. This symptom should not be alarming. While taking the recommended doses no adverse effects were observed.

When taking higher doses, the following may occur:

  1. allergic skin changes (rash, redness of the skin, hives, erythema of the face),
  2. diarrhea,
  3. irritability,
  4. headaches,
  5. vitamin B6 doses (over 2 g / d) used for 2 months and longer may induce peripheral neuropathies.
