Vitaminum A + E GSK – indications and dosage
Vitaminum A + E GSK prevents deficiencies of vitamins A and E and the increased demand for these vitamins as a result of stress or exercise.
Dosage
Vitaminum A + E GSK is in the form of capsules to be taken orally.
- prophylactically: 1 kaps./d,
- in shortages: 1 capsule 2-3 times / day.
Vitaminum A + E GSK and contraindications
Contraindications to taking the Vitaminum A + E GSK supplement are:
- allergy to any component of the supplement,
- hypervitaminosis A or E,
- fat absorption disorders.

Vitaminum A + E GSK – warnings
- Other preparations containing vitamin A or E should not be used in parallel with Vitamin A + E GSK due to the possibility of hypervitaminosis.
- Do not increase the recommended dosage without consulting your doctor.
- Caution should be exercised in people with renal or hepatic insufficiency, and in people taking anticoagulants from the group of coumarin and indandion derivatives, due to the possibility of hypothrombinemia.
- The peanut oil contained in the preparation may contain traces of peanut protein, which may cause allergic reactions.
- Pregnant women may take the supplement only after consulting a doctor and only in states of vitamin A deficiency, as prescribed by the doctor.
- Vitamin A may be teratogenic. Be careful and limit the amount of vitamin A-rich foods.
- If you are pregnant (or intend to become pregnant), the total dose of vitamin A must not exceed 4000 IU per day.
- High doses of vitamin E should not be used due to the lack of data on the safety of its use during this period (the recommended daily intake of vitamin E during pregnancy and lactation is 12 IU, which corresponds to 12 mg of tocopherol contained in the preparation).
- High doses of vitamins A and E should not be used during breastfeeding.
Vitaminum A + E GSK with other substances
- The absorption of vitamin A and vitamin E from the gastrointestinal tract is reduced in the presence of cholestyramine, colestipol, neomycin, mineral oil.
- The effect of vitamin A may be enhanced by retinoids, e.g. isotretinoin or etretinate.
- Vitamin E contained in the supplement may antagonize the effect of vitamin K. Therefore, the use of the Vitamin A + E GSK supplement should be avoided in people taking oral anticoagulants or estrogens due to the increased risk of bleeding.
- Vitamin E does not alter blood clotting in healthy patients.
- Vitamin E can increase the absorption and utilization of vitamin A, and protect against hypervitaminosis A.
- Iron sulphate weakens the effect of vitamin E, it is recommended to wait a few hours between taking both drugs.

The desired effect when taking Vitaminum A + E GSK does not occur, as long as the preparation is used in the recommended doses.
