Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is one of the key nutrients on which to be in good health. But during evolution, the human body has lost its ability to synthesize it: food is therefore the only way to have a supply of vitamin C.
Beware of preconceived ideas: vitamin C does not provide energy since it has no calories. To say that vitamin C prevents sleep is therefore a misconception. This hypothesis has never been proven. On the other hand, vitamin C would have a de-stressing and anti-fatigue effect in the long term.
Vitamin C is also a major antioxidant that helps fight cell aging. It protects against coronary and degenerative diseases (cataracts, macular degeneration, etc.), against certain cancers and more generally against oxidative stress, that is to say damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C is also a beauty ally since it limits skin aging.
