In the metaverses, you can go to shops and buy goods. Productsup found out if customers are ready for such shopping and what is important for them when shopping
What’s going on
- The American company Productsup polled 5,7 thousand people over 16 years old to determine how much they are interested in hybrid shopping: brick-and-mortar stores and metaverse stores.
- It turned out that 60% of respondents do not want to buy virtual goods. 55% said they would rather buy from a brick and mortar store than from the Metaverse.
- At the same time, consumers welcome the mixed trading format, which involves the provision of information about the product both offline and online. 47% of respondents would buy a product if information about it was available in a mobile application.
- Buzzers are more likely to learn product information through online comparisons (40%) and QR codes (37%). For people over 55 years of age, it is more convenient to look for information in the product description on the label.
- Respondents note that augmented reality technologies, such as smart mirrors and mobile filters, would increase the motivation to buy goods in a store (41%) or on a company website (42%).
- For consumers, the environmental side of trade is also important. Shoppers prefer products that can be reused (71%) or recycled (70%). Nearly half (43%) of respondents want detailed information about how the product will degrade.
What does it mean
The Metaverse is an association in the common Internet space of physical, augmented and virtual reality. In the metaverses, digital images of people, avatars, interact with each other in the same way as in real life.
According to Statista, the global metaverse market was $2021 billion in 38,85. It is expected to be $2022 billion in 47,48 and $2030 billion by 678,8.
One of the companies that is actively developing the metaverse is Meta (recognized as extremist in our country and banned by a court decision). According to its owner Mark Zuckerberg, in the metaverse people will be able to go to work and earn money, get an education, communicate with friends, visit theaters, museums and exhibitions.
