“Vilash” – Russian champagne, made at one of the factories of the company of the same name. The company is located near St. Petersburg and produces several dozen types of sparkling wines, which regularly receive medals at international industry competitions. The raw materials for production are both imported materials and crops from our own vineyards in Azerbaijan and Spain.
Historical information
Group of companies “Vilash” started its work in 1992. Its founder, Mashkyur Gasimov, is a professional sportsman and in his youth he took part in Greco-Roman wrestling competitions. After completing his career, the future entrepreneur came to St. Petersburg, where he got a job in a construction company and in a short time went from a simple worker to the head of a department.
In the wake of the general enthusiasm for business in the 90s, Gasimov and his brother decided to open their own business. In their native Azerbaijan, they still had connections with wineries, so the entrepreneurs began their activities by supplying wine in tanks to the factories of the Northern capital. They managed to earn start-up capital quickly, and the brothers opened a small workshop that was engaged in bottling wine. The main part of the assortment was cheap port wine, which was in great demand at that time.
Despite the high income from sales, a few years later the company abandoned the production of fortified drinks, and the plant switched to bottling vintage table wines. The decision turned out to be the right one – by the beginning of the 2000s, people became much more demanding on the quality of alcohol, and the Vilash company firmly occupied its niche in the market. Since 2004, the company has been exporting its products to the USA, Germany and the Baltic countries.
Currently, the company includes four large enterprises: in Spain, Estonia, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The plant for the production of champagne “Vilash-KShV” was built in 2010 in the city of Volkhov, not far from the northern capital. The production complex covers an area of about three hectares, part of the territory is occupied by warehouses for storing products. The company has three bottling lines, one is given exclusively for sparkling wines.
