Vidisic for dry eye syndrome. How often should I use Vidisic?

Vidisic is a preparation that replaces the tear fluid in the case of impaired secretion in dry eye syndrome. The preparation, when administered into the conjunctival sac, provides adequate hydration of the cornea and conjunctiva. The polyacrylic acid in the drug forms a protective layer over the cornea. The drug is in the form of an eye gel and is available over the counter in pharmacies.

Vidisic – indications and dosage

Vidisic indications for use: replacement of tear fluid in the event of impaired secretion, dry eye syndrome.

Dosage

  1. 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3-5 × / d, more often if necessary.

Vidisic and contraindications

A contraindication to the use of Vidisic is hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Vidisic – warnings

  1. Vidisic contains certimid as a preservative which may be irritating to the eyes.
  2. If contact lenses are worn, remove them before using this medicine and reinsert them after no more than 15 minutes.
  3. It is not recommended to use Vidisic in pregnant and breastfeeding women due to the lack of data on the safety of its use (use of the preparation during this period only after consulting a doctor, when, in the doctor’s opinion, the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk for the child).
  4. People who experience blurred vision after taking Vidisic should not drive or use motor vehicles as long as their visual acuity is impaired.

Vidisic – interactions

In the case of using other ophthalmic drugs, the preparation should be used last, not earlier than 5 minutes after using the drops or 15 minutes after using other ophthalmic ointments.

Vidisic – side effects

Transient visual acuity disturbances may occur during treatment with Vidisic.

Very rarely: irritation reactions (hyperemia, burning sensation, foreign body sensation), damage to the corneal epithelium or hypersensitivity reactions.
