Viagra for women: will there be demand?

A drug called Flibanserin was originally created as an antidepressant. For a long time, the drug was tested on laboratory animals and volunteers, but it showed itself not from the best side – as an antidepressant, it practically did not work. But the drug showed a strange side effect – all women who took it noted a greatly increased sexual desire, as well as greater satisfaction from intercourse.

Speaking at the annual international medical conference in Lyon, France, Professor John Thorpe of the University of North Carolina, who led the drug research, said that “Flibanserin” “increased libido in laboratory animals and people who participated in tests.”

“It is essentially a drug for women like Viagra, among which one of the most common sexual problems is decreased sexual desire or libido,” Thorpe said in his speech.

It is not yet known when this drug will appear in pharmacies. He still has to go through a lot of clinical trials. At the moment, the side effects of the drug are dizziness, nausea, insomnia and even weight gain.
