Vertuo: up to half a liter of coffee with a single Nespresso capsule
Nespresso incorporates its extraction system into the Spanish market Vertuo, based on «centrifusion» technology, a pioneering system that seeks to meet the demand of all those coffee consumers who seek variety and exclusivity. The new machine allows you to enjoy preparations ranging from 40 ml up to 535 ml. “Nespresso opens, once again, a new era in the coffee universe. No other coffee extraction system applies centrifugal force to infuse it. Following the success of the Nespresso Original system, which was launched in 1986, the pioneer company in premium coffee in capsules expands the variety of styles available to coffee lovers.
How do Spaniards prefer coffee?
After the success in numerous countries of North America, Europe and Asia, the Vertuo system arrives in Spain to satisfy a clear demand, since 49% of the coffees consumed in Spanish homes is large, that is, it has more than 200 ml and, in addition, 62% of consumers enjoy it by adding milk.
“Vertuo is innovation, versatility and quality,” says Thomas Reuter. The system was launched in the US 7 years ago and “has been developed to adapt to consumer tastes to offer different sizes and mixes. The time to launch it in Spain was now, because that is when the system is already adapted to the tastes of the Spanish, “he says.
New capsules
Through a coffee capsule barcode system and the laser reading of the machine, the variety of coffee chosen is identified and the machine customizes the extraction for each capsule individually. This translates into maximum precision, because it adjusts the more than 50 extraction parameters to the desired coffee result, which is optimally obtained at the touch of a button.
In addition, the Carafe capsule, unlike any previous coffee launch. A new capsule associated with the large format and based on the culture of sharing and the latest trends in filter coffee. Carafe offers the possibility of enjoying a coffee from large size (535 ml) and opens a completely new segment.
The new technology will be available in two different machine models: Vertuo Next y VertuoPlus. The prices of the coffee makers and capsules will not be the same as the original system, in part because each original capsule has 6 grams of coffee and the largest Vertuo will have up to 18 grams. The largest, to make up to half a liter of coffee, they will cost 99 cents per capsule.
