Venoforton is a herbal medicine in the form of a tincture used as an aid in the treatment of venous insufficiency.
Venoforton – the composition of the medical preparation
The medical preparation Venoforton contains:
- horse chestnut fruit extract (Hippocastani fructus intractum recentis) Der 1: 1, the extraction solvent is ethanol 96%,
- Ginkgo biloba tincture (ginko bilobae folium tinctura) DER 1: 5, the extraction solvent is ethanol 70%,
- tincture of hawthorn inflorescence (Crataegi inflorescentia tinctura) DER 1: 5, the solvent is ethanol 60%,
- mistletoe herb extract (Vinci herbae intractum) DER 1: 1, the extraction solvent is ethanol 96%,
- arnica herb tincture (Arnice herbae tinctura) DER 1: 5, the extraction solvent is ethanol 70%.
Venoforton contains 55-70% ethanol.
Action of Venoforton
Plant extracts included in the medicinal preparation Venoforton improve peripheral circulation, reduce the symptoms of numbness of fingers and cold legs, help relieve symptoms of venous insufficiency (varicose veins, leg swelling, feeling of heavy legs), support cerebral circulation, reducing symptoms such as tinnitus, dizziness , memory impairment. They also improve memory and concentration.
Indications for the use of Venoforton
Venoforton is used as an auxiliary in the insufficiency of the venous and cerebral circulation.
Contraindications to the use of Venoforton
Venoforton should not be used in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of the ingredients of the preparation.
Venoforton is not indicated in patients suffering from renal insufficiency.
Due to the alcohol (ethanol) content, Venoforton is not recommended for people who are addicted to alcohol, for patients with liver disease and epilepsy, and for patients suffering from mental illness and brain damage.
Contraindication to the use of Venoforton is pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How is Venoforton used?
Venoforton should be used according to the doctor’s instructions.
Usually, 4 milliliters of the drug is used, three times a day. The drug is intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
The dose of Venoforton should be supplemented with water (possibly fruit juice) and drunk all. You can drink the medicine with water or juice.
Side effects of Venoforton
Like all drugs, Venoforton can also cause side effects such as irritation of the intestinal mucosa and stomach, as well as gastrointestinal disturbances and nausea.
Precautions when taking Venoforton
Venofortone should not be used in conjunction with gentamicin. The ginkgo extract contained in Venoforton tincture may cause an extension of the clotting time with the simultaneous use of warfarin. Before starting therapy with Venoforton, the patient should inform the doctor about all drugs used at the time, including those available without a prescription.
Venoforton should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package. The preparation should be stored at room temperature, in a tightly closed container, out of the sight and reach of children.
Due to the alcohol content in Venoforton, it may have a negative influence on the ability to drive and use machines. The recommended dose of the drug does not have a direct impact on psychophysical fitness, but you should not drive immediately after taking the drug.
