Venożel – indications, dosage, contraindications, interactions, side effects

Venożel is used in diseases of the veins of the lower extremities, postoperative and post-traumatic edema, congestive edema of the lower limbs, pain syndromes related to spine diseases, pain in muscles and joints after injuries, limited and mild forms of arthritis. The drug in the form of a gel is dispensed at a pharmacy without a prescription.

ACTION

Venożel is a combined preparation containing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, an anti-inflammatory substance and a substance that reduces the permeability of capillaries.

Venożel – indications and dosage

Venożel is used in:

  1. diseases of the veins and lower limbs,
  2. postoperative and traumatic edema,
  3. congestive edema of the lower limbs,
  4. pain syndromes associated with diseases of the spine,
  5. muscle and joint pains after injuries,
  6. mild and limited forms of arthritis.

Dosage: adults and children over 12 years of age, spread a small amount on the skin and massage in 3-4 times a day.

Venożel and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Venożel are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
  2. III trimester of pregnancy,
  3. the period of breastfeeding,
  4. skin damage or inflammation,
  5. open wounds.
  6. Do not use in people in whom the administration of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may cause an attack of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis.

Venożel – warnings

  1. Venożel preparation for external use only, for use on the skin.
  2. Avoid contact of Venożel with the eyes and mucous membranes.
  3. Do not use on damaged skin.
  4. If the symptoms persist or worsen after 7 days of use, a medical consultation is recommended.
  5. During the treatment period and for 2 weeks after its completion, exposure to the sun’s rays (including solarium) should be avoided.
  6. Venożel is not recommended for dressings.
  7. In the case of long-term use or application to large areas of the skin surface, possible systemic side effects; be careful.
  8. Methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate contained in the preparation may cause allergic reactions.
  9. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.
  10. Venożel should not be used in pregnant women (in the third trimester the use is contraindicated) due to the lack of data on the safety of its use.
  11. Use during breastfeeding is contraindicated.

Venożel – interactions

When Venożel is applied topically to the skin, the likelihood of drug interactions is low.

Venożel – side effects

There may be: mild and transient skin symptoms at the application site (rash, eczema, erythema, dermatitis [including contact dermatitis]).

Very rarely: lumpy rash, hypersensitivity, angioedema, asthma, photosensitivity reaction, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain.
