Venescin

Venescin is a preparation used to treat the initial symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency (pain, heaviness and swelling of the legs and calf cramps) and after injuries (edema, hematomas). The drug is a combined preparation that contains triterpene saponins from horse chestnut seeds and flavonoids (they reduce the permeability of the vessels and increase their elasticity). The drug in the form of a gel is available without a prescription.

ACTION

Venescin – a combined preparation containing triterpene saponins from horse chestnut seeds and flavonoids that reduce the permeability of the vessels and increase their elasticity.

Venescin – indications and dosage

Venescin is used in the initial symptoms of venous insufficiency:

  1. pain,
  2. a feeling of heaviness and swelling of the legs,
  3. calf cramps
  4. after injuries: edema, hematomas.

Dosage: apply a small amount of gel (about 2 cm) twice a day, rub in gently.

Venescin – contraindications

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Venescin should not be used on open wounds, mucous membranes and areas of the skin that have been irradiated by radiotherapy.

Venescin – warnings

  1. Venescin preparation for external use only, for use on the skin.
  2. Avoid contact of the gel with the eyes and mucous membranes.
  3. Do not use on damaged skin surface.
  4. Venescin contains propylene glycol and salts of parahydroxybenzoic acid, which may cause allergic reactions.
  5. The drug contains ethanol.
  6. The preparation should not be used by pregnant women and breastfeeding women without consulting a doctor.
  7. There are no data on the influence of Venescin on the ability to drive motor vehicles.

Venescin – interactions

There are no known interactions of Venescin with other drugs.

Venescin – side effects

There may be:

  1. skin irritations,
  2. allergic reactions
  3. hives
  4. contact dermatitis,
  5. bronchospasm
  6. dry skin.
