A venereal disease is defined as a sexually transmitted disease. They are caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. The most common infection occurs during sexual contact – oral, vaginal, anal. The risk of contracting STDs is much greater when intercourse is unprotected. What diseases belong to the group of venereal diseases?

Examples of venereal diseases and causes of infection

Do venereal diseases include:

  1. human herpes: disease caused by a virus, it occurs through kissing, oral, vaginal and anal sex. This venereal disease can be passed on unconsciously, as it is most often difficult to see. The herpes virus can lead to encephalitis;
  2. T-lymphotropic virus that is sexually transmitted. It is at the root of diseases such as lymphoblastic leukemia (a tumor of the hematopoietic system) and lymphocyte lymphoma;
  3. Genital warts are caused by the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes warts around the genitals and anus. Condylomas are treated with ointments, in extreme cases they are surgically removed;
  4. scabies is a venereal disease caused by the presence of parasites. It appears mainly in intimate areas – it manifests itself as burning and itchy skin. Special preparations are used to treat scabies;
  5. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) – Its source is HIV, which damages the human immune system. The human body is so devastated that after some time it is not able to defend itself against even the smallest infection. The advanced stages of this venereal disease cause pneumonia and cancer. The symptoms of AIDS are difficult to grasp. To make sure that after accidental intercourse we have not become HIV or other STDs, order the STD Test Kit at Home.

How to protect yourself from venereal disease?

To heal viral venereal diseases, various types of topical preparations are used for this, or antiviral drugs are administered in the event of relapses. When venereal disease affects the entire body, it is countered differently. However, these are not radical measures. Supplementation, diet and medications (antiviral, protective) are prescribed. This is the case, for example, with hepatitis B.

The worst consequences and the most difficult to control are venereal diseases caused by the T-lymphotropic virus – in the last stage of development they lead to death. Viral neoplasms are treated with chemotherapy.

Prophylactic measures against venereal disease

The safest way to protect yourself from STD is avoiding sexual contact with sick people. However, it is often difficult to determine. As a prophylaxis, it should follow male or female condoms – unfortunately they do not give a XNUMX% guarantee. It is also worth remembering about vaccinations for hepatitis B and HPV, and that infection with venereal disease can also occur through a small incision of the epidermis.

For didactic purposes, the Contaminated Love kit, offering educational toys showing the most common venereal diseases, may be helpful – it is available at Medonet Market at an attractive price.
