Velor

Stavropol “Velour” is a premium class brandy that appeared on store shelves in 2008. The original bottle in the shape of a heavy antique decanter, a gilded palette and designer gift packaging distinguish the drink from the rest of the company’s products and are immediately remembered by the consumer.

Historical reference. 1960 can be considered the year of foundation of the enterprise – it was then that the Krasnooktyabrsky winery was organized in the south of Russia, in the Stavropol Territory – the first vineyards were laid, an irrigation system was built, and warehouses were erected. Two years later, vineyards already occupied 700 hectares and grew on them quite unusual for those times for the south of Russia varieties “riesling”, “rkatsiteli”, “saperavi”. And two years later, in 1964, large wine shops were built for grape processing and the first batches of dry and fortified wines were produced. By the beginning of the 80s of the last century, the winery produced grape juices and 25 varieties of wine, among which were branded drinks, own brands.

But then the so-called “Dry Law” broke out, vineyards began to be destroyed, the production volumes of all alcohol-producing enterprises decreased 3-5 times, some wineries were completely closed. And Krasnooktyabrsky fell into decay. Investments helped save the economy from bankruptcy and resume production – the distribution company Elida Grupp invested a lot of money to restore the plant’s capacity and attract new specialists.

Limited Liability Company AF “Pearl of Stavropol” was founded in 1999 on the site of the joint-stock company “Wineyard Krasnooktyabrsky”. The agrofirm today owns 230 hectares of vineyards, 3 thousand hectares of land and backwaters with production workshops, which are equipped in accordance with modern European standards.

Cognacs at the enterprise began to be engaged in 2000, having built a special workshop for distillation and a bottling workshop. Today the company produces 3 series of cognacs – premium vintage Velour, ordinary Troyekurov and named after the first grape harvest on the fields of the 1962 factory.

The agricultural firm became a laureate of the ProdExpo Moscow international competition in 2015, received a bronze award for the three-year Troyekurov and a silver award for the five-year Troyekurov.

In the same year, the plant was completely modernized in order to further increase production.
