The couperose skin is characterized by erythema, the occurrence of the so-called reticular veins and spider veins. It is thin, delicate and often very bright. Its owners complain not only of aesthetic problems, but also extensive discomfort: stinging, burning, itching, dryness, over-reactivity. Capillary skin requires professional care throughout the year, but summer is a particularly difficult time for it.

The couperose skin does not tolerate extreme temperatures and weather conditions – frost, but also heat, wind and strong sunlight. Its proper care is necessary so that the skin condition does not deteriorate, the capillaries do not deepen, and the signs of time do not appear on the skin too quickly. What’s more, following a few caring rules will improve the condition of the skin, reduce the visibility of redness and translucent spider veins, give the skin a uniform color, soothe it and soothe it.

Photoprotection

Photoprotection, i.e. protection of the skin against the sun, is particularly important in the case of couperose skin. Unfortunately, the action of sunlight promotes the expansion of surface blood vessels, and also accelerates the aging process of the skin. It is worth using a sunscreen cream all year round, but in the summer you have to ensure that the protection is really high – preferably by lubricating your face with a cream with SPF50 factor.

Avoiding rapid temperature changes

The couperose skin is damaged not only by the sun, but also by hot water, sauna, solarium and sudden, significant changes in temperature, which cause rapid contraction or expansion of the surface blood vessels. Therefore, on a hot summer day, avoid excessive cooling, e.g. with a strong stream of cold air-conditioned air in the car.

Moisturizing, strengthening, soothing

Sensitive, reactive couperose skin needs daily care and moisturizing with a cream suitable for it. Those dedicated to couperose skin, such as Couperose cream, will not only moisturize the skin, but also will shrink dilated capillaries, thus reducing their visibility. In addition, properly selected products will strengthen thin skin and soothe any irritations. Couperose is a cream for couperose skin produced in Switzerland, based on the highest quality standards. It contains concentrated extracts of calendula, red branch leaves, rose and ginkgo biloba as well as a complex of red algae, cress and soy protein extracts. Moisturizing, strengthening and soothing couperose skin is really essential.

Gentle cleansing

In summer, it is easy to get the impression that the skin, which secretes more sebum at this time of the year, needs to be intensively and invasively cleansed. Thorough cleansing and make-up removal are important all year round – for all skin types – but couperose skin should always be cleansed in the most gentle way. Instead of strongly drying soap or gel, use mild cleansing products dedicated to couperose skin.

Adequate diet

Owners of couperose skin during the summer holidays must remember that alcohol, cigarettes, hot drinks and spicy foods are risk factors contributing to the formation of erythema. The fight against vascular skin problems can be helped by foods containing vitamin C (e.g. peppers, parsley), beta carotene (e.g. carrots, broccoli, spinach), rutin (beetroot) and vitamin K (green leaves of vegetables).

Physical activity? Yes, but in moderation

Summer encourages us to be on the move. Physical activity is of course very important, but excessive, too intense, and additionally performed at high temperature, can cause redness and redness on the face and worsen the condition of couperose skin.

Vigilance over the pool

Chlorinated and too hard water, as well as rubbing it with a towel, can also damage the couperose skin. Remember about this when spending time by the pool.

Be careful with treatments

The couperose skin cannot be subjected to invasive cosmetic procedures. It is not allowed to use coarse-grained peels, strongly exfoliating acids (and in too high concentrations), preparations with alcohol. When using cosmetics with exfoliating and brightening substances, you must do it with special care – and it is best to always consult their use with a specialist (dermatologist or cosmetologist).

Exfoliation

However, exfoliation of couperose skin, like any other skin, should not be forgotten. Enzymatic peels and acids suitable for couperose skin will dissolve callous epidermis, help get rid of discoloration and allow nutrients to be absorbed more intensively. The azelaic or almond acids recommended for couperose skin do not have photosensitizing effects, they can also be used in summer, but do not forget about the cream with a day filter.

Chilling

According to research, strong emotions and stress are one of the risk factors contributing to the formation of erythema and vascular changes. A bit of summer rest can help a lot of couperose skin, especially when we combine relaxation with professional, balanced care.
