Vessels that appear on the face are called rosacea. Often this condition is accompanied by erythroderma and diffuse redness on the cheeks. Some types of skin turn red easily due to stress, heat, cold, and even during digestion. How to take care of such skin? Here’s a dermatologist’s advice.
WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF SKIN WITH ROSACEA.
The presence of dilated vessels on the face is evidence of the weakness of the capillaries of the skin.
This feature is more inherent in people with pale and thin skin. A number of factors contribute to the appearance of rosacea. Temperature fluctuations, cigarette smoke, spicy foods, alcohol, and stress all cause blood vessels in the face to dilate. However, do not believe the rumors associated with this disease: if you have rosacea, this does not mean that you drink too much!
WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO PATIENTS?
You should focus on eliminating the factors that lead to rosacea.
If the patient has pale skin, he should avoid spicy food, and in winter protect the skin with cosmetics with a strong moisturizing effect. It is also a good reason to quit smoking. I always recommend using cosmetic creams with active ingredients that improve blood microcirculation in the skin. It is also important to gently remove makeup to avoid irritation. Finally, you need to use suitable corrective makeup products.
WHAT ARE THE TREATMENT ROUTES?
If there are few vessels that have appeared, then electrocoagulation can be resorted to.
Today, vascular lasers give excellent results. Already in two sessions with an interval of 6 weeks, the KTP laser can give excellent results. I use a laser system based on the action of pulses of high intensity light. It also gives good results. These treatments are applied when the skin is not exposed to the sun.
