Varieties of beautiful tall roses
Beautiful tall roses fascinate with their versatility of colors and shapes. By choosing the right variety for your garden, you can create a unique and delicate floral arrangement.
Roses striking in their size, human height and taller, are called Forever Young (“forever young”). Another ornamental variety is a real rose tree called “standard roses”. And the record holders among such roses are climbing roses.
You can create decorative arches from tall roses
Let’s consider each variety in more detail:
- Forever Young. These roses have the longest stems ranging from 95 cm to 1,7 m. Flowers reach this size naturally. The buds have a rich dark red hue. Other colors are rare. The petals are velvety twisted a little, which gives the buds a special charm. The advantage of this variety is not only in their size, but also in their durability after cutting. Roses keep their buds, leaves and aroma fresh for up to 20 days. The variety has high frost resistance and disease resistance.
- Standard roses. The height of the plant can reach up to 5 meters, but not due to the stem, but due to the fact that they grow on an artificial reinforcement. Roses are arranged on one thick stem of the rose hips, creating a lush crown dotted with magnificent roses. An unusual tree can take any shape, such as a cascade, a weeping willow. Various types of roses can be grafted onto the stems by combining shades and varieties.
- Climbing roses. Plants have long shoots in the form of lashes up to 4,5 m high. They cannot twine around themselves, therefore, devices in the form of a wooden or metal frame are needed. With the help of the frame, you can create various structures in the form of arches, pyramids, colonnades, and form hedges. Fascinating compositions are obtained by combining different types of roses.
Long-stemmed roses are a true piece of art for your garden.
How to grow tall roses on the site
The Forever Young rose variety grows well in open areas. But there should not be strong drafts, otherwise the roses will grow poorly and aphids will attack them. A well-lit place with slightly acidic and fertile soil is ideal. Sandy and wetland areas are not suitable.
To create a rose tree on your site, you need to take a rose hip bush. Choose the most powerful and flexible shoot, hardy with a developed root system and long shoots, while the bark should not be very thick. Remove the shoots. Plant roses in the middle of summer.
Regardless of the variety, roses need fertilizing with phosphorus and calcium, and fertilization with potassium in the fall
Climbing roses love light and open spaces. But you cannot plant them where the sun shines all day. Plant roses in late spring, early summer. Flowers do not like excess moisture, water them sparingly.
Tall roses will delight you with their luxurious look for a long time. Just treat them with love and attention.
