SYMPTOMS
From retention acne to inflammatory acne
There are different forms of acne. They may first appear as comedones (blackheads or whiteheads), i.e. like retention acne. However, acne can also be accompanied by blemishes and larger blemishes. In a low oxygen environment, a bacterium (P.acnes) that normally lives in the skin can begin to multiply and create inflammatory substances that spread under the skin. This is inflammatory acne. Usually, these two forms of acne coexist, which is why they are called mixed acne. Almost 60% of patients suffer from this form of acne.
CAUSES
Acne: a problem with many causes
Acne is caused by several factors. First of all, these are hormonal changes (puberty, premenstrual syndrome, pregnancy, etc.). In addition, stress and fatigue can lead to an overproduction of sebum and an increase in bacteria. Excessive sebum production leads to clogged pores. This results in blackheads and spots.
CARE
Acne needs to be treated carefully
To get rid of acne, you need to treat your skin carefully. Every day you should follow a few simple rules.
- Thoroughly cleanse your skin with a cleanser designed for oily skin.
- Use the care product every day. This is the key to success in getting rid of acne.
- Use non-comedogenic makeup products designed for oily skin.
- Protect your skin from the sun, which, contrary to popular belief, is a false friend in the fight against acne.
- Do not squeeze comedones.
In addition to these measures, a dermatologist may also prescribe specific acne medications. Do not hesitate to consult a doctor.
