“My dad staged performances on the radio, my mother taught at a music school. At home there were constant conversations about books, about art, first of all about the theater. So for me there was no question of what to do in life – I knew that my profession would be connected with the theater. As children, my brother and I did not hear any edification. If dad wanted to punish, he spanked with a belt … on the sofa. We learned some fundamental things from the example of our parents: perfectionism, self-esteem, respect for people regardless of their status. I am still learning from my father, who is still an amazingly positive, optimistic, resilient person.”
