In 2014, more than 100 citizens applied to the courts due to the fact that their unvaccinated children were temporarily removed from the collective of children’s institutions during periods of quarantine and epidemics. And in all cases the decisions were made in favor of the kindergartens.
Nevertheless, the heads of kindergartens have no right not to accept an unvaccinated child who has a full refusal. Mom should take care of this already. And every year there are more and more such concerned parents. The debate about whether to vaccinate a child, whether it is humane, whether it is safe, has not subsided for several years.
Olga Batalova, yoga instructor: “I have no children, but thanks to vaccinations in childhood, I myself did not get chickenpox, measles, rubella, and as a result I endured all this in adulthood in a severe form, I would not wish anyone. During this period, I came across an intelligent doctor who said: “I don’t do it for my children and I don’t advise you!”
Natalia Pakhomova, mother of two children, specialist with medical education: “We did not vaccinate our children, because up to three years of age, immunity is only being established. And the central nervous system is busy with the process of growth, development of the baby. When a vaccine enters the body (it does not matter, live, not live, antibodies), the central nervous system abandons all its tasks and is engaged in isolating a foreign object. For example, after being vaccinated at nine months, my sister fell ill so that she stopped walking, and started walking at the age of two months, the body did not pull the load. “
On anti-vaccination forums, such horror films write that you won’t sleep for a long time. And yet, most mothers agree to vaccinate their children because “they do everything,” “they did nothing to us,” “the doctor prescribed,” “you need to somehow protect your child,” etc. And pediatricians, whose earnings do not depend on the number of vaccinated children on the site; it is also recommended to vaccinate.
Let’s turn to statistics, taking the most unpleasant and at the same time the most necessary vaccine against whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus – DPT. It appeared in 1940-50, before that in Russia 20% of children fell ill with diphtheria, half of them died. With tetanus, things are even worse – 95% of all cases died. And 100% of children suffered from whooping cough, while now there are 20 times less victims, and we rarely hear about cases of diphtheria or tetanus. And after the start of vaccination against poliomyelitis, the most severe paralytic forms of the disease disappeared.
More complete statistics are available from the United States, they are presented in the infographic below.
Despite such cloudlessness in statistics, complications after vaccinations still occur, children after vaccinations still fall ill, infections still return at an older age with greater intensity … Why is this happening? Let’s start with the latter – unfortunately, immunity is not formed for life, especially when you consider that viruses tend to mutate. Therefore, by the way, some vaccinations are revaccinated.
Further, complications and diseases. Let’s remember how the examination by the pediatrician goes before going for the vaccination. They listen to the child, watch the throat, at best they will measure the temperature, at worst they will ask their mother if they have a fever. And all – forward to the treatment room. This does not take into account contraindications to a particular vaccine. For example, your child has chronic gastrointestinal problems and recently had a flare-up. The pediatrician may not remember this, he has 300 patients on the site, and my mother will not take it into account, because she does not know that inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract is a contraindication for a live polio vaccine. The result is a crippled child. Who is responsible for this is a moot point.
What should a mother and a specialist take into account when children are sent for vaccination? The child must be absolutely healthy. There should not be the slightest inflammation (even in the eyes), residual effects from acute respiratory infections, rashes, redness, etc. If necessary, it is better to undergo additional examination by specialists than to rush headlong for the vaccine, because the time has come. Any vaccination can and should be postponed if there is evidence for that.
It is also undesirable to get vaccinated right in front of the kindergarten – the child already has stress due to the change of scenery, and then there is an extra load on the body. Vaccinations should be taken care of at least six months before admission to the institution.
After vaccination, you need to give the small body a rest – do not load it with food, if the child does not ask, do not pull to visit or to a large crowd of people, do not insist on activity. But calm walks in the fresh air can be appropriate, if not shown otherwise.
A child may react to some vaccinations with a low temperature (up to 38 degrees), lethargy, and lack of appetite. There is slight redness at the injection site. All this is considered the norm.
But when there are loss of consciousness, convulsions, the temperature rises to 40 degrees, you can no longer wait, you need to call an ambulance. Also, complications after vaccination include a rash all over the body, suppuration in the area of the injection. In these cases, you should also consult a doctor.
The decision whether to vaccinate a child is up to each parent himself and he himself is responsible for the health of the baby. What are doctors responsible for? Also, for the patient’s health condition and the quality of the vaccine, which depends, among other things, on the storage conditions of the drug. Now on the Internet you can find a guarantee receipt, which they suggest giving to doctors to sign before vaccination. Her example is here. And, I must say, its content is not devoid of logic. After all, we are forced to write a consent for vaccination …
Interview
Will you vaccinate your children?
I will, so I can protect my child from serious illnesses.
Only at gunpoint! It is unwise to introduce microbes into a healthy body.
Selectively. I’m afraid of polio and diphtheria.
