Vaccinations against COVID-19. Antibody levels drop “faster than previously thought”
The Swedish study (conducted under the name “Community”) included 464 health workers who did not have COVID-19. The results showed that in double vaccinated people, antibody levels decline “faster than previously thought”.
In the case of receiving the Pfizer vaccine, the level of antibodies fell by half after three months, and by 85 percent after seven months. In people vaccinated with AstraZeneca, the amount of antibodies decreased even further.
– The results of our research are disturbing, therefore the elderly and sick should receive the third dose of the vaccine as soon as possible – stressed Charlotte Thalin, the leader of the «Community» research.
The third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine covers more groups of people
On September 28, the Swedish health service recommended administering a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to more groups of people. A similar decision was made in Denmark.

In Sweden, the Public Health Authority has recommended an additional dose of the vaccine to people over 80 years of age living in a nursing home or on home care. In turn, the Danish equivalent of this institution extended the group that will be entitled to the third dose to people over 65 years of age and medical staff. Previously, such vaccinations were offered to people over 85 years of age, with reduced immunity, and residents of retirement homes.
The Danish health service stressed that in the long term “a significant proportion of the population will have to be revaccinated”.
