On January 18, mass vaccination of everyone against the COVID-19 coronavirus infection started in Russia. President Vladimir Putin gave the corresponding order at a meeting with members of the Government. Citizens of Russia can be vaccinated free of charge with one of the two registered vaccines – Sputnik V or Epivaccorona, however, according to Golikova, mass production of Epivaccorona will begin only in February of this year. According to official data, the effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine reaches 91,4%, so in this article we will focus on this drug and talk about its features and possible risks of vaccination.

Recall that the mass vaccination of special categories of citizens, such as doctors, teachers, people with chronic diseases, began in December last year, and now a month later, the Government declares its readiness to put 2,1 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine into civilian circulation. , so now everyone can get vaccinated against coronavirus infection for free.

The Sputnik V preparation consists of two components, therefore, vaccination is carried out in 2 stages: first, you are given one component of the vaccine, after 21 days – the second. It should be noted that immunity is formed already after the first injection of the drug, however, the second phase is necessary in order to “spur” immunity, which gives a longer effect. Antibodies should appear on the 42nd day after the first injection. According to official data, studies have shown that such a two-stage vaccination system produces an immune response in 91,4% of cases. And immunity is formed stronger than those who have been ill with coronavirus.

Until January 18, it was possible to vaccinate only by appointment with confirmation that you belong to special categories of citizens. Now you can get vaccinated without an appointment. For example, mobile vaccination teams work in shopping malls and other public places in Moscow. Anyone can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00 to 21:00. We remind you that the vaccine is given twice, so 21 days after the first injection, you need to return for the second component of the vaccine.

However, after the first wave of vaccination, we have some results: those who have already decided to vaccinate with the Russian Sputnik V noted that after the first injection of the drug, they had some undesirable reactions: within 30 minutes after the injection, some had a sharp drop in blood pressure, and a day later, the temperature rose and muscle pain appeared. However, after 2-3 days, all symptoms returned to normal. Doctors note that such a reaction of the body is considered quite normal and serves as an indicator that the vaccine is working, prompting the body to defend itself against the “false” infection for which it takes the injected drug. If such symptoms appear, you should not worry too much, because there were no serious side effects from Sputnik V, and all of the listed reactions, such as fever, weakness, muscle pain, are common post-vaccination reactions.

We still cannot say anything about the possible long-term side effects of Sputnik V, because the knowledge that we have now reflects the dynamics of drug development in just a few months. Rare, possibly severe side effects, such as those associated with rare chronic conditions, will continue to accumulate through long-term studies over the next few years.

If you still decide to administer the Sputnik V vaccine, you need to remember the recommendations of doctors: in the interval between the first and second injections, try to reduce the burden on immunity from other “fronts”, because your body is currently busy with the primary task at the moment – the formation of an effective defense systems against coronavirus.

During these three weeks, do not overcool, follow basic hygiene rules, minimize meetings in large and noisy companies, add more citrus fruits to your diet. But if it was not possible to avoid the disease, and fever, weakness, muscle pain persist, contact a specialist for a competent treatment plan. Most often, they will prescribe an antiviral drug that will help your immune system cope with the infection. Give preference to proven and safe medicines, as an example – Nobazit, which has repeatedly proven its effectiveness and is recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The drug acts in a complex way: it suppresses the action of viruses, relieves acute clinical symptoms, and also increases the body’s immunity and resistance to infections, which we especially need in this difficult time. The democratic price of Nobasit is also in favor of the domestic manufacturer.

As a conclusion, I would like to note: it is up to you to decide on vaccination with Sputnik V – weigh all the pros and cons based on your state of health and your social position. And, if you decide in favor of a domestic vaccine, try to follow the recommendations of experts and “support” your body for 21 days after the first injection.
