Vaccinations against COVID-19 for children aged 5-11 are to start in Poland on December 16. According to the original announcements, referrals were to be issued two days before this date. However, the government decided to accelerate the process.

– Next Sunday and Monday (December 12 and 13 – editorial note) we will be issuing orders for children in the electronic system – announced on Friday Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski.

Indeed, some parents are already finding active e-referral for vaccination today.

How do I register my child for COVID-19 vaccination?

Adam Niedzielski also explained that registration is to be done in the same way as for adults, as well as for children aged 12-17. There are four possible ways.

Just go to the website https://pacjent.erejestracja.ezdrowie.gov.pl/auth and choose the path “Registration without a Trusted Profile”. Here you must enter the child’s name, PESEL number and your telephone number. Then you will receive an SMS with the code that you enter in the next step. Now choose a convenient vaccination date. You will receive confirmation via SMS to the provided phone number.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11 years on November 25. The EMA decided that the benefits of using this preparation in children 5+ outweigh the risks, especially in diseases that increase the likelihood of a severe course of COVID-19. Soon after, the preparation was approved by the European Commission.
