Using a UV lamp for nail extension. Video
For the procedure of nail extension, quite a lot of different accessories are required – these are brushes, and the source material itself, and forms, and tips, and, of course, an ultraviolet lamp. It is necessary both in the case of gel nail extension and in those situations when acrylic is used. And in fact, and in another version, it performs its specific functions.
Ultraviolet radiation in the process of nail extension has a number of important functions. First, it is gel crystallization. Secondly, it protects the nails from fungal infections that can occur in response to the application of foreign material to the nails.
How does the UV lamp work in the process of nail extension
It is also not worth looking inside the lamp during the process of nail extension, this is fraught with eye problems
By itself, the UV lamp for nail extension is quite compact and convenient to operate. It is a small box with a hole for one or, as a rule, two hands at once. The body of the device reliably covers the lamp itself. And this is a mandatory requirement. After all, open ultraviolet light is quite capable of causing a retinal burn. Also, too active work of the rays can lead to various problems with the skin.
Inside the device can be located from one to two lamps, it all depends on the power of the device. The inside of the appliance is lined with foil. This is necessary to amplify and focus ultraviolet radiation.
The more powerfully the lamp is used, the faster the gel crystallization process takes place. As a result, a lady who has her nails extended may feel a burning sensation in her nails. It is sometimes strong and painful enough.
Seen from the outside, the whole procedure for using the lamp for nail extension is as follows. The master applies the gel to the nails, corrects it, after which the woman puts her hands in the lamp – sometimes one at a time, sometimes both at once (depending on the manner of the master’s work). Within literally half 30 seconds – 1 minute, the gel hardens, and the hands are taken out of the lamp. And the build-up procedure continues further. On average, hands have to be lowered into the lamp about 3 times in the process of gel extension and 1 – in the process of acrylic.
The principle of operation of the lamp is simple: ultraviolet light strongly heats the building material, which, under the massive influence of heat, begins to crystallize and harden.
What to Consider When Using a UV Lamp for Nail Extension
It is imperative to change the lamps in the device on time. This is especially important if the process of nail extension is put on stream. Therefore, manufacturers set a maximum lamp life of 2000 hours. Hence the natural question arises: how to choose the right lamp? If you have to build up your nails frequently, use a fixture with at least two lamps. At the same time, it is desirable that there is also a fan in it. It cools the hands as the gel crystallizes, thereby reducing pain.
Also, do not use a damaged device. This is fraught not only with breakdowns at the wrong time, but also accidents are quite possible. Also, you cannot use such a device in places of high humidity, as well as place wet hands in the lamp.
Experts do not recommend cleaning the body of the device with various solvents. It is best to use a brush or brush for cleaning.
