It also happens that the test is performed on people who observe a prolonged time of urinating. Small portions of urination also require diagnostics. Urodynamic examination it is prescribed when the doctor is unable to determine why the patient suffers from problems related to the urinary system. Sometimes before performing urodynamic examination a general urine test is ordered. The examination is started only when the doctor is sure that the patient does not suffer from an active infection. The test is performed when there are no dangerous bacteria in the urine. If you notice any disturbing urinary symptoms, see a doctor. Urodynamic studies – how long do they take

Urodynamic research it is nothing more than a urine flow test. It allows you to delve into the entire process of its collection and excretion. RESEARCH urodynamic usually take about 15-30 minutes. For some, the entire test may be uncomfortable. All thanks to catheters introduced through the urethra. The duration of the examination may be longer when the doctor recommends an additional x-ray of the bladder. It is used to make an accurate diagnosis.

Urodynamic research – what is it about

What is urodynamic testing? Patient who will be performed urodynamic studies, must undress from the waist down. Then she lies down with her legs spread apart. At this point, a special catheter is inserted into the urethra. Usually, before its placement, the insertion site is lubricated with a special anesthetic gel. There is a device at the end of the catheter. It measures the pressure inside the bladder. Another catheter is placed in the anus. A sensor at the end of it measures pressure in the abdomen. Once the bladder is full, the doctor asks the patient to rise and cough. Then the patient is asked to sit on a special device and empty the bladder. This device is used to measure the flow of urine. After the examination is completed, the catheters are removed. Remember to drink plenty of fluids for a few days after the test. This will greatly reduce the risk of infection. Usually urodynamic studies they’re safe. However, the patient may feel a slight burning sensation and general discomfort.
