Unsuccessful New Year’s gift for children

I asked Santa Claus for a live pony, but found warm socks under the tree? The harsh Russian reality: either he behaved badly this year, or … at least announce a competition for the best parental explanation of why the wizard did not bring what the child asked for.

Whether children believe or not is a secondary question. Experts have already found out that at the age of 9-11, children have less and less faith in miracles, but they still look forward to gifts. In general, it makes no difference to them whether Santa Claus brought them or their parents.

But the relationship of European children with Santa is more democratic and prosaic. And they believe in miracles for a long time and persistently. A nine-year-old boy from the German commune of Zetel in Lower Saxony decided to transfer them to the category of legislative ones.

This is what happened there: on Christmas morning, the boy did not find gifts under the tree. No, some boxes were there, of course. But inside there was something that he did not ask Santa for sure!

Who did the upset boy complain to? Mom? Dad? Take it higher! The sensible guy called the emergency hotline! And they came to the call.

“When the officers arrived, they were greeted by a very angry child,” a local police spokesman told German media.

The boy showed the law enforcement officers an important piece of evidence – his list with gifts that he asked Santa for.

“Well, none of them match,” the schoolboy complained.

The guy was lucky: the morning at the law enforcement officers turned out to be calm. And they decided to play along with the boy and restore peace in the family. With an air of importance, they got down to business: they began to check what was on the list with what was under the tree. The “investigation” showed that the child is right.

And what are you going to do here? You can’t drag Santa to the station. It is still necessary to find him, and then catch him. No, here we have to act differently.

“You understand, Santa Claus is already old, he could have mixed up the lists,” the police got out.

The boy agreed with this argument, but was not at all happy. Looks like next year Santa will have to try hard to rehabilitate himself.
