Unpretentious annuals are especially good because they make it possible to change the composition and appearance of the flower garden every year, in accordance with taste preferences or your mood. And if the flowers for the garden are carefully selected, so that they please the eye with flowering all the long summer, then your flower bed simply will not be equal in the whole district! Choosing a flower garden
As a rule, unpretentious flowers, whose life span does not exceed one season, are used to organize bright flower beds or modular flower beds. And if a flower bed is a composition of plants, which is characterized by strictly defined boundaries and a certain shape, then modular flower beds can be modified as you wish, simply by changing containers with flowers in places.
Another option for using annuals is a curb landing or mixborder. The peculiarity of this planting is the careful selection of flowers, planting them depending on the time of flowering and growth. With a competent approach, it is possible to achieve that new ones bloom to replace faded plants, as a result, the riot of colors will not leave you all season.

Tall varieties
Such flowers can reach a height of 1,5 m, they look spectacular both in the same type of plantings and in flower arrangements, for example, in the very center of a round flower bed or in the back row of a mixboard. Sometimes these plants need to provide additional support, be sure to consider this fact when choosing a variety.
As a rule, unsightly walls are decorated with such flowers, hedges are formed or they are planted in the background, forming a multi-level flower bed.
Dahlias
This flower from the aster family will bloom for a very long time – from July until the onset of the first frost. This culture has a variety of colors and shapes, therefore it is considered the unconditional favorite of domestic gardeners.
Amaranth
The unfading flower, as the ancient Greeks called it, is widely used in the design of flower beds. Due to its high growth and attractive color of both inflorescences and foliage, the plant looks advantageous in flower arrangements. We especially love amaranth because it is rightfully considered long-flowering.
Fragrant tobacco
This fragrant flower with curly stems is successfully used in vertical gardening and the formation of hedges. A special fragrance around the area where the culture is planted will appear in the evening hours, since it is then that the flowers open, which prefer to close for the day.
Medium-sized varieties
These plants do not exceed 80 cm in height and are also widely used in organizing multi-level flower beds. To select suitable varieties, it is important to consider not only the growth of an adult flower, but also its color, as well as the fact how well it will harmonize with neighboring plants.
Snapdragon
This attractive annual will delight you with flowering throughout the season – from July to October. To maximize the flowering time, experienced gardeners advise pinching the top of the plant (so that it bushes better), as well as removing faded flower stalks (this way you prevent the formation of seeds, respectively, prolong flowering).

This medium-sized annual resembles a familiar chamomile. But this is only at first glance!
The main difference between Arctotis is its incredible color splendor. What shades of flowers just do not exist: lilac and purple, pink and crimson, yellow and orange.
No less pleasant is the fact that such a variety of colors will delight you for a long time: the flowering period begins in July, and ends only in October, with the arrival of the first frosts.
Brachycoma
Another flower that looks like a favorite chamomile. Forms small inflorescences of a pleasant lilac color with a yellow core. Differs in friendly flowering and resistance to dry periods. It blooms for a long time – from June to September.
annual cornflower
Bright flowers in the shade of a summer sky will not require you to grow effortlessly, the culture is extremely unpretentious. It is grown by sowing immediately in a permanent place, choosing sunny areas. All that is required of you is the periodic removal of weeds, loosening the soil and watering as needed. And cornflowers will delight the eye until late autumn.
Salvia
The main attraction of Salvia lies in its inflorescences – bright, spike-shaped flowers, stretching upwards with candles and reaching 15 cm in height. Thanks to this special form of inflorescences, salvia is often used to organize creative flower arrangements, for example, it imitates a burning fire under a cauldron in which alyssum “boils”.
Matthiola
And, of course, one cannot do without the favorite of millions – the fragrant night violet. Inconspicuous at first glance, the flower shows its full potential with the advent of twilight: the unique delicate aroma exuded by this wonderful flower spreads over great distances, bringing the feeling of being on the Mediterranean coast.
Undersized varieties
Low-growing annual flowers, whose height does not exceed 30 cm, look especially advantageous in a duet with their taller relatives, then the small flower looks especially attractive and elegant. They are often used as ground cover plants to fill existing gaps between large rose bushes or other horticultural crops.
Ageratum
The inflorescences of this miniature plant most often flaunt in the foreground of the flower bed. The color is long – from June to September. The color is dominated by a blue-lilac hue.
Petunia
The favorite of many, not only gardeners, but also lovers of balcony floriculture, petunia, will give a real riot of colors to your flower garden. Her bright gramophones of various colors form whimsical compositions, giving a flower bed or flower garden completeness and originality. To prolong flowering, it is recommended to remove faded inflorescences.
Growing tips
Unpretentious and attractive annual flowers that bloom all summer, surprisingly do not require special care. All the manipulations that your flower garden needs fit into the usual rules of agricultural technology: watering, removing weeds, loosening the soil and minor feeding.
