Unpleasant smell in the washing machine: how to get rid of, what to do

Without knowledge of the rules of caring for a washing machine, over time, an impossible smell appears that overshadows everyday life. There may be several reasons for this:

· A door closed tightly immediately after washing: non-evaporated moisture creates mustiness, which is absorbed into the walls;

· Dirty laundry accumulated in the car: it is better to leave the whole range of household odors for a special basket, which is well ventilated and does not absorb them;

· Washing powder or rinse aid with a specific aroma: large doses of detergents oversaturate the air with their fragrances;

· Constant washing at low temperatures: in such conditions, the washing machine retains a small coating on the walls; · the remains of the contents of the pockets that were washed with clothes: cookies, sweets, cigarettes, paper;

· Sediment on the walls of the drain hose during long-term operation of the machine;

· Incorrect connection of the drain hose: sewage odors are directed into the machine;

Clogged filter;

· Heating element with adhered scale and rotting hair and dirt residues;

· Insufficient cleaning: dirt from the internal parts, which has come off during cleaning, sometimes remains and goes out.

A musty washing machine is a sign of accumulated mold or bacteria. Removing their colonies is a sure way to solve the problem.
