UniGel Procto Apotex is a medical device in the form of hypoallergenic suppositories, intended for rectal use. Indications for treatment with the drug are:
- hemorrhoids,
- skin cracks in the anal fissure,
- sharp skin wounds in the anus area,
- damage to the mucosa of the skin of the anus and rectum,
- rectal bleeding when you pass stools.

UniGel Procto suppositories soothe and inhibit bleeding:
- accelerate the healing of wounds,
- eliminate pain,
- reduce rectal bleeding.
Due to the fact that UniGel Procto is not absorbed into the body, the use of suppositories is recommended for patients of all ages, as well as for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
UniGel Procto – composition
UniGel Procto is available in the form of white torpedo cones which contain:
- HEMA-HAS copolymer powder,
- Witepsol 25 W fat base.
UniGel Procto – dosage and method of use
UniGel Procto should be used externally, rectally. It is recommended to use 1 suppository a day, preferably in the evening, after defecation and washing. The effects should be visible after the first application of the UniGel Procto suppository. However, if the symptoms do not stop within 7 days or if they worsen, a consultation with a doctor will be necessary.
How to use UniGel Procto? Here is the instruction:
- Separate one suppository from the rest of the blister and open a single package.
- The suppository with the pointed tip pointing towards the anus should be inserted deep into the rectum, slightly bending forward. Hands should be washed before and after application.
- Repeat the action the next evening if symptoms persist.
UniGel Procto – precautions
The use of UniGel Procto requires thorough hygiene of the anus and its surroundings. In addition, it is important to have regular bowel movements, which is achieved by taking the right amount of water throughout the day and enriching the diet with fiber. Eating spicy foods is not recommended.
The drug should be stored in a dry place, in 15-20 degrees Celsius, in the original packaging. UniGel Procto should be kept out of the reach of children.
UniGel Procto – side effects
UniGel Procto suppositories have very mild side effects, which include:
- laxative effect,
- slight irritation of the rectal mucosa,
- mild itching and burning in the rectal area.
If side effects occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor immediately.
