Uniben is a non-steroidal drug designed to eliminate the symptoms of pharyngitis. It has a local anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anesthetic and disinfecting effect.
Uniben – properties
Uniben based on benzydamine, its action does not inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase or lipoxygenase (enzymes involved in the metabolism of cell membranes lipids leading to the formation of prostaglandins or leukotrienes) and does not cause gastrointestinal ulceration. Uniben acts locally, limiting the formation of changes in the vessels caused by stimulated leukocytes, inhibits degranulation and aggregation of leukocytes.
Thanks to its active ingredient Uniben reduces the permeability of capillary blood vessels, which reduces the formation of edema. In addition, it also has a disinfecting and analgesic effect. The glycerol contained in it moisturizes the mucosa and gives the preparation a sweet taste.
Uniben – application
Uniben is intended for use in the local treatment of symptoms associated with acute inflammation of the oral mucosa and pharynx. It can be used by both adults and children.
Uniben – contraindications
You cannot use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug – the full list is included in the leaflet attached to Uniben..
There are no sufficient data on the use of the preparation in pregnant or breastfeeding women, therefore before taking it prepare in Univ please consult your doctor.
Uniben – precautions
In certain situations, the use of place in Univ may require specific check-ups – especially if there are side effects. Before starting to use the drug, inform your doctor about all the recently taken drugs.
The preparation has no influence on the ability to use machines and vehicles.
Uniben – side effects
In some cases, the use of Uniben may bring about side effects in the form of an allergic reaction. Usually it lasts for a few days, but if it does not go away, it is necessary to consult a doctor. An allergic reaction is usually seen with long-term use of the drug.
Dry mouth and nausea leading to vomiting may very rarely occur.
Uniben – dosage
Convenient dosing place in Univ enables a long applicator, allowing for a precise hit on the inflammatory focus. This is one of the reasons why Fr. Unibenie among the users are very positive.
For children up to 6 years of age, the recommended dose is 1 dose / 4 kg body weight, 2–6 times a day. Up to 4 doses per day.
For children from 6 to 12 years of age: 4 doses 2–6 times a day.
Adults and adolescents after 12 years of age: 4-8 doses 2-6 times a day.
The preparation should not be used for more than 7 days.
