Unguentum Neomycini is used to treat purulent skin diseases, especially those caused by staphylococci, purulent complications of allergic skin diseases, infected minor burns and frostbite. Unguentum Neomycini is used in purulent skin diseases, especially those caused by staphylococci (e.g. furunculosis, impetigo), purulent complications of allergic skin diseases, in small infected burns and frostbites.

Dosage

  1. Cover the affected areas with a thin layer of ointment 2-4 × / day.

Unguentum Neomycini and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Unguentum Neomycini:

  1. hypersensitivity to neomycin,
  2. hearing impairment, pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  3. do not administer concurrently with ototoxic, nephrotoxic and neurotoxic drugs,
  4. use in children under 12 years of age,
  5. application to a large area of ​​the skin, oozing lesions, varicose ulcers.

Unguentum Neomycini – warnings

  1. Do not use Unguentum Neomycinina large areas of damaged skin, oozing lesions and varicose ulcers.
  2. It should not be used for a long time due to the developing resistance of bacteria and the possibility of toxic effects and superinfection with yeasts.
  3. Topical neomycin, especially on open wounds and for prolonged periods, may be ototoxic and nephrotoxic.
  4. Elderly patients with impaired renal function, hearing or balance disorders are more exposed to the ototoxic effects of the preparation.
  5. There is no information on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive and use machines.
  6. Unguentum Neomycini should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
  7. Unguentum Neomycini is a medicine intended for external application to the skin.
  8. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use the drug.

Unguentum Neomycini – interactions

  1. Cross-allergic reaction to paromomycin, kanamycin, tobramycin, amikacin and isepamycin may occur during the use of Unguentum Neomycinina on the skin. Cross-allergic reaction does not occur to dibecacin, arbekacin, astromycin, spectinomycin.
  2. Other aminoglycosides (e.g. paromomycin) or other preparations with potential nephro and / or neurotoxic effects (bacitracin, cisplatin, vancomycin, amphotericin B, polymyxin B, colistin, variomycin) should not be taken simultaneously or consecutively toxic side effects.
  3. As a result of the use of omycin in medicine, bacteria have easily developed resistance to it for many years; this applies to both Enterobacteriaceae and staphylococci.
  4. Neomycin is cross-resistant with kanamycin, paromomycin and framycetin.

Occasionally, the following may occur:
