Overweight women, as a rule, are scolded a lot, but they praise, alas, little. But it turns out, there is a reason. A Pilates trainer and an oriental dance teacher expressed their opinion.
Are the plump ones more flexible than the thin ones?
Initially, our ability to stretch well is genetically inherent. There are people who stretch well, without making any special efforts, and there are those who stretch every day, but still remain “wooden”. Based on scientific research and my personal experience, I cannot say that women in the body stretch much better. But people of any size who regularly pay attention to physical activity – moving, walking, doing fitness – feel much more comfortable in life, any actions give them more pleasure.
Let me give you an example. Somehow a girl with a body, who had previously been engaged in active physical training in the hope of reducing the volume, started to visit me for Pilates classes. But the weight stood still. After six months of Pilates, she said: “Can you imagine, my body weight has not changed much, as I was plump, I remained, but my body shapes became more rounded, feminine, chiseled, movements became soft and flexible. I feel much better all day long. I walk along the road as if I were floating, I raise my arms more easily, my body is more responsive to the load. “
I am for people not to hide behind words, they say, I am plump, I like myself, I am an individual, and did not engage in physical activity at all. And at the same time, for all of us to move away from glossy standards – 90-60-90. Remember, girls, we are made for movement, not for glossy magazines.
Physical activity should be present in the life of any person every day.
And even if the woman weighs a little more than the standards prescribe us, but at the same time she gets up without pain, during the day she easily fulfills her professional duty, in the evening she takes an active part in the life of the family. And the most important thing is that after any physical work – washing the floors, digging up the beds, winding cucumbers for the winter – she will feel great, she will have enough strength and good mood for everything.
What types of fitness promote flexibility? There is no universal rule. The main thing is that everyone does their own kind of fitness, which brings him pleasure. There are people who enjoy yoga, others – from step, someone likes water aerobics, Pilates, etc. To do this, try different types of fitness and find something of your own.
If you engage in the kind of activity that you like, then you will not have to force yourself to go to workout, you will not look for a reason to skip a lesson. You run there and get high. And if you enjoy everything in the gym or on the dance floor, performing exercises under the guidance of a competent coach, you will give all your best! In this feeling of complete satisfaction from your body, you will not care whether you are flexible or not, sit on a split or still cannot. Look for fitness for fun and get moving every day!
My observations are: plump softer. Thinness indicates that the level of female hormones is slightly lower, while in chubby, on the contrary, it is excessively high. And if there are more estrogens and progesterones, then the tissues are more elastic – hence the flexibility of girls in the body. Yes, the thin ones are relieved of complexes about excess fat at the waist, their joints are flexible, but the muscles and ligaments are tight.
And for the thin it is more difficult and longer to stretch, but the full ones quickly open up in all their glory and achieve flexibility. The overweight have an initially pliable body. True, at first they are a little complex about their weight, but then they all come out on stage. And they begin to lose weight in the process of training.
If you want to improve your flexibility, then learn special exercises. Search for flexibility on YouTube and do it. But the main rule is to work for the sake of the process, and not for the sake of the result, and then everything will work out. Do everything with pleasure!
