Undofen Max – indications, dosage, contraindications, side effects

Undofen Max is used to treat mycosis of smooth skin, feet, skin folds and tinea versicolor. The active substance of the cream is terbinafine.

ACTION

An antifungal drug, an allylamine derivative that has antifungal activity. After the drug is applied to the skin, this substance reaches a high concentration in the stratum corneum. The preparation should not be used during pregnancy. The preparation in the form of a cream is dispensed in a pharmacy without a prescription.

Undofen Max – indications and dosage

Undofen Max is used in mycosis of smooth skin, skin folds, feet and tinea versicolor.

Dosage

  1. Adults and children after 12 years of age: use 1-2 times a day for 7 days (mycosis) or 14 days (tinea versicolor). Apply a thin layer of cream on thoroughly cleansed and dried skin and around the lesions and rub it lightly; an additional gauze dressing can be applied around the skin folds.

Undofen Max and contraindications

Contraindications for use:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
  2. the period of breastfeeding,
  3. there is no clinical experience on the use of terbinafine in pregnant women, therefore the preparation should not be used during pregnancy,
  4. there are no studies on the use in children up to 12 years of age (not for use in children up to 12 years of age).

Undofen Max – warnings

  1. If symptoms persist 2 weeks after starting treatment with Undofen Max, contact your doctor.
  2. The preparation is intended for external use only, for use on the skin.
  3. Protect your eyes from contact with the cream.
  4. If the drug comes into contact with the eyes, they should be rinsed immediately with running water.
  5. In the event of an allergic reaction, discontinue use of the drug.
  6. The preparation contains cetostearyl alcohol, therefore it may cause skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
  7. There are no studies on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive motor vehicles.

Undofen Max – interactions

There are no known interactions of the preparation with other drugs.

Undofen Max and side effects

Side effects include mild and transient skin symptoms at the application site, such as:

  1. dry skin
  2. skin irritation,
  3. burning sensation,
  4. in very rare cases allergic reactions such as rash, itching, dermatitis bullous and hives may occur.
