Our Country’s attack on Ukraine. Ukrainian doctors working in Poland do not believe what happened

One thing is repeated in the accounts of most medics – the disbelief that Our Country actually attacked their home country.

In an interview with Grudziądz Our City, doctor Mikhailo Kazantsew said: “If someone asked me if I believed that in the XNUMXst century one country in Europe could attack another one, threatening others with nuclear weapons, I would not believe it. When someone asked me if Kyiv would be attacked by missiles, I would not believe it, but unfortunately, when a phone call from a person close to me woke me up in the morning and this person told me what was happening in Ukraine, I unfortunately had to believe … ».

A doctor working in Grudziądz reports that he wanted to bring his sister and her four-year-old daughter to Poland. She refused, saying that she had to stay in her homeland. So the doctor appeals to everyone: “We must do everything possible to ensure that no child in Ukraine, Poland or anywhere in the world wakes up from the explosion of a missile”.

Iryna Barancewicz works at the ophthalmology department of the hospital in Siedlce. At present, this facility employs several medics from Ukraine. On the Radio for You, the doctor said about the current situation: «We are worried about our relatives and friends who stayed there. Each of us left a loved one there. I am from Donbas, I left in 2012, when there was no war yet. When I left, I did not expect that I would never return to my territory ».

Ukrainians living in Poland are terrified of the situation. On Radio Ostrowiec, doctor Yuri Serwetnik, an internist and endocrinologist, said that his phone was still ringing.

«I’m at work and I get calls from my loved ones every five minutes. I think all the time about what to do with my family. I wonder how I can help them »says the doctor.

The napkin holder describes that life in many places in Ukraine has died out. People are afraid to go out, they don’t come to doctors’ visits. «My wife, who is also a doctor, is at work but there are no patients at all. Nobody comes. Martial law – the war has begun, ”he said on Radio Ostrowiec.

Doctors from Ukraine working in Poland do not hide their sadness and fear. According to the website echodnia.eu, the hospital in Busko-Zdrój employs seven doctors from Ukraine. The director of the facility says the moods are bad and the doctors are in despair.

«The most tragic scenario has happened. I myself have talked to my Ukrainian and Belarusian doctors before and we did not think it would happen »- said Grzegorz Lasak, director of the Hospital in Busko-Zdrój in an interview with echodnia.eu.

And he adds: “At present, the atmosphere is very bad as far as the mood of Ukrainian doctors is concerned. After all, their families stayed there. They are desperate and wonder what will happen to their loved ones and their children. I must admit that we are also trying to bring some families here to Poland ».
