Tyurya is a traditional Russian cold soup. In the classic version, it is bread or crackers crumbled into water, kvass, milk or other liquid. Sometimes onion, radish, herbs, a little vegetable oil and salt are added to the dish to improve the taste. Folk culinary specialists went further and developed a recipe for vodka tyuri. Let me tell you straight away – the soup turns out to be an amateur, but for the sake of interest you can try it, especially since cooking will take no more than 5 minutes.
Tyurya differs from other bread soups in that it is prepared and served without heat treatment. We can say that this is one of the distant relatives of okroshka. Until the XNUMXth century, tyurya was part of the daily diet of peasants and was considered the food of the poor, but now it is just a cold fast food snack.
Tyuri recipe with vodka
Ingredients:
- vodka (moonshine, alcohol 40%) – 150 ml;
- brown bread – 50 g;
- onion – 50 g;
- black radish – 50 g;
- fresh herbs (parsley, onion, dill) – 50 g.
It is better to take rye bread with a minimum amount of additives. The alcohol base must be of high quality, vodka of at least the middle price segment, grain or sugar moonshine of double distillation without an unpleasant odor, as well as ethyl alcohol diluted to 40%, will do.
Onions, radishes and herbs are optional ingredients, any of them can be excluded from the composition, but vegetables add variety to the bland taste, so I recommend leaving it. The proportions of the ingredients can be changed at your discretion.
Preparation
1. Crumble the bread with your hands (it is possible along with the crusts) into a deep plate for serving.
2. Peeled onion and radish cut into thin strips, add to bread, salt and mix.
3. Pour in vodka (moonshine). Mix. Sprinkle fresh chopped herbs on top.
Tyurya on vodka goes well with pickled cucumbers and other pickles.
