Currently, there are a large number of different types of zumba, which we will analyze in this article.
There are different types of zumba. Most varieties fall into three categories:
- for those who may have difficulty with classic zumba;
- for classes in children’s groups;
- for combining zumba with other types of fitness by adding various elements.
Classic zumba
“This is a traditional zumba where aerobic exercises are mixed with rhythms and music of Latin and African origin. The festive and relaxed atmosphere makes the classic zumba not only a good physical workout, but also a means of psychological relief. Practitioners feel freer in everyday life and enjoy it much more than in the absence of such activities.
Step Zumba
– Step zumba adds another element to the classic zumba – a low, elongated bench. This type of fitness is designed specifically to train and keep in shape the lower body, legs and buttocks.
Toning zumba
“This is a variation of Zumba that has an extra element added to give it a little twist on the workouts while still maintaining the Latin musical structure and festive vibe. In a tonic zumba, a dumbbell filled with sand is used. It is used not only to increase the complexity and physical activity. It also acts like maracas, setting the rhythm.
Aquazumba
– Classes of classical zumba are not always suitable for people with joint problems or who are overweight. These difficulties are eliminated by aquazumba, which also uses a lot of dance exercises and Latin rhythms, but the training takes place in the pool.
Zumba Sentao
Zumba Sentao is a type of Zumba where training is done in a sitting position. It is ideal for people with foot problems or limited mobility. It is also a good option for those who want to start their Zumba practice with exercises that require little to no effort or physical coordination.
“Golden” zumba
– The “golden” version of the classic and toning zumba is specially designed for people who find it difficult to follow the rhythm in traditional classes due to illness, old age or lack of experience.
Zumba “Kids” and “Kids Junior”
– There are forms of zumba created specifically for children’s training. Classes are designed for children from 7 to 11 years old in the “Kids” class and for children from 4 to 6 years old in the “Kids Junior” class. In these sessions, trainers develop psychomotor skills and group dynamics in children.
Zumbini
– Zumbini is a type of zumba adapted for parents and children from 0 to 4 years old. The exercises here are relaxing and focused on the cognitive and motor development of babies, including in the typical zumba movement system. Workouts often come with reading materials and mobile apps.
Circle zumba
– Such training can be described as a mixture of CrossFit and Zumba. Here, modular schemes of specific physical exercises are used, which must be performed in a certain sequence over one or more cycles. These are high-intensity workouts that require more physical fitness than classic zumba classes.
