Of course, we will not be able to cover all varieties of non-alcoholic beer, however, we will try, at least in two or three words, to go over the most common brands.
What is non-alcoholic beer made from?
Overview of common brands
Gesser (more precisely, Gesser)
An Austrian light non-alcoholic beverage produced in a number of Russian cities under license from the Dutch beer alcomonster Heineken.
A dealcoholized lager that retains some hoppy bitterness on the palate.
Bad
With a strength of about 0,5 degrees, it retains the proper smell, taste and aftertaste.
According to the manufacturer, the composition of the drink includes: water, malt, hops, rice and yeast.
At the same time, it seems that the manufacturers of this soft drink are somewhat cunning, since the abundant beer foam characteristic of it cannot be formed without the addition of cobalt, which is not listed in the list of ingredients.
Claustrophores
Not fully fermented German beer with a strength of 0,5 degrees.
The taste includes frank grape, corn and herbal notes, uncharacteristic for the classic version of this drink.
Some semblance of normal beer is achieved by creating a bitterness obtained by adding a mysterious hop extract.
Goat
Non-alcoholic version of the beloved Czech lager, made under license.
Light bitterness and malty smell are designed to reconcile brand lovers with the rejection of a full-fledged drink.
Amstel
Another brainchild of the Heineken association in the post-Soviet space.
The inevitable emasculation of the product is somewhat offset by carbonation.
Hugarden
Belgian wheat unfiltered, containing less than 0,0% alcohol.
The depressing effect of the almost complete absence of the latter is partly hidden by the presence of coriander and Curacao orange peel in the drink.
In addition, the taste deficiency of the product is somewhat offset by a very low (almost zero) serving temperature.
Baltic 0
The well-known non-alcoholic version of the St. Petersburg brand.
Contains 0,5 degrees of authentic beer obtained by dealcoholization by means of dialysis.
If you do not expect a full-fledged beer flavor set from it, we completely use it.
Zhatet goose
Light Czech lager with a strength of 0,5 degrees, produced under license by Baltic brewers.
Partial satisfaction from the presence of the expected hoppy bitterness in the drink is significantly overshadowed by the presence of dubious malt extract and no less discouraging hop products in its composition.
Miller
An unremarkable non-alcoholic version of a faceless American beer.
Produced in Russia under license owned by the Belgian-Brazilian alcohol giant Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Polar bear
One can only say about this Russian brand that it exists and express the wish that it exists in some parallel reality.
Tuborg
Another duty licensed product of the Baltic with a standard set of parameters: 0,5 degrees, dialysis filtration method, the presence of hop products and malt extract.
Siberian crown
It makes you want to say: “Anthrax”, although, perhaps, someone likes it.
Stella Artois
Licensed non-alcoholic variation on the well-known Belgian theme.
Among consumers of non-alcoholic beer, this drink, whose strength is limited to 0,5 degrees, is considered very good.
Carlsberg
A light, standardized Dane who has taken root in the Baltika brewing company.
Zhiguli Barnoe
Non-alcoholic variety of the epochal brand from Mytishchi brewers.
Despite the reduced level of maltose and the use of several varieties of hops at once, the beer clearly falls short of its European counterparts.
Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Alkoholfrei
Non-alcoholic beer from the oldest brewery in the world. Date of foundation 1040! The beer tastes like a classic lager, but it has light banana flavors.
Bavaria malt
A licensed beer product of Dutch blood, allegedly with a complete absence of alcohol.
According to fans of the genre, this beer is not very different from the classic lager.
Although, too pronounced malt-apple flavor, nevertheless, makes itself felt.
Золотой фазан
Another localized brand from Heineken.
It is characterized by an unnatural smell and a pronounced non-alcoholic taste combination with notes of crushed grain inherent in the latter, excessively protruding malt, unfermented must, corn, grass and sawdust.
Krombacher
Popular in Germany, a non-alcoholic variant of the well-known pale lager.
It has an unveiled fruity-malty-earthy taste with grain inclusions and a rich head of cobalt origin.
The strength of the drink is 0,5 degrees. The recommended serving temperature is + 4-7 Celsius.
Erdinger
White wheat Bavarian. Fortress 0,4 degrees.
Among this kind of soft drinks, nothing stands out, in addition to the rather impressive amount indicated on the price tag.
Meisels
Unfiltered Bavarian wheat ale with a strength of 0,4 degrees.
It is considered one of the best in its category, but it is still drunk with difficulty.
Buckler
Beer product produced in the Chelyabinsk region. As the saying goes: smart is enough.
Becks
Another unremarkable light German.
Ochakovo
A Moscow brand that does not appear in any non-alcoholic top.
Ever Fan
Light pasteurized German beer with a strength of up to 0,5 degrees.
Although only water, hops and barley malt are claimed to be in the drink, its additional carbonation suggests the presence of unlisted carbon compounds.
At the same time, as lovers of pampering themselves with dubious substances believe, this beer product, thanks to its pronounced bitterness and balanced carbonation, is not much different from a textbook lager.
What is the most natural non-alcoholic beer
If we talk about the maximum proximity to the authentic original and at the same time abstract from post-Soviet manufacturers, then the palm should probably be given to two drinks.
The first of these will be American bad.
The second is German Ever Fan.
There are also semi-mythical stories about a craft soft drink, such as Mikkeller – Drink’in the Sun, produced in Belgium, which surpasses authentic drinks from world brands in its qualities. However, to be honest, we don’t want to have anything to do with people who are willing to de-alcoholize their own craft ale or lager.
